I too was expecting this.
I'd like to see a quick instance added to the pyramid on top of Gun'drak. Something like Gruul was. Two bosses or something. Perhaps the LK brings the leaders of Gun'drak back. They become consumed with the power he as given to him. Join him. And continue to try to summon their god and take his power.
We fight a boss holding us back form stopping the ceremony. We become too late and have to finish off both him and the god he has taken the powers from.
Could be quite epic.

3) Icecrown Citadel will attempt to be one of the Crown Jewels of instances due to its storyline and because let's face it, most of us have close ties with WC3 and Arthas. This is the "Super Bowl" for many of us long time players.
So rest assured OP, they're going to take care of this patch a lot. (not saying more then usual but *wink* *wink* they're really excited about this patch I guarantee you).
You could almost argue that the WOW train that is this behemoth of a game is directed at this patch, this raid instance, this boss.

I concur with the poster and Zarhym. This is a pretty big deal for Blizzard and the Community. ICC is gonna be probably bigger/more important than Cataclysm since most players know of and connect with the Arthas/Lich King story line.

last major patch??? you mean we aren't having another content patch after this the only thing after icecrown is cata???? wtf was hoping there would at least be a troll raid since we got all that ice troll stuffs
