Not just for 80's ... there are times when leveling when you'd like to queue for an instance that is below the range the LFG tool thinks you should be able to queue for.

My main concern with the new X Server LFG is this: How will we be able to summon?? I would hate to have to 'tun' to an instance using this awesome new tool.

Is it going to be like BGs. Where we put our self in the LFG queue, and when the team is formed it pops up a dialogue box and says "ENTER HEROIC ToC" and you click the button and everyone zones into the instance? That would be awesome TBH.

Is that question asking too much info? I mean, we all know that the XServer Instances are comming next patch, you guys said so when the AV nerf happened. You guys specifically said that the change wasnt supposed to go into the game untill 3.33 and that the XServer Instances should make up for the EXP nerf. in the next patch.

To me, grouping in an MMO is the primary purpose for play, i am an avid Pugger, i love the challenge of not knowing who i'm going to be with, and trying to keep afloat a bad group, or just totally cruising with a great group.

However, I have to jump through so many hoops to finally join a PUG. I have to select 6(!) dropdown menus, (heroic dungeon x 3, then the actual 3 dungeons themselves), then tab over to the LFM, then select heroic(again), then 3 more times for the 3 dungeons i'm in. That's 11 mouseclicks that I must go through just to CHECK to see if anyone happens to be in the queues i'm in, let alone start forming a group. If there is nobody, then it takes another 4 clicks just to change ONE dungeon to another. (lfg tab, other dung, lfm tab, other dung)

It would help a lot I think if the two windows were merged. Grouping is an important enough aspect of this game to devote an AH-sized window to it. Also, if the dungeons were NOT dropdown boxes, but instead scrollwheels that you can use with your mouse, with 2 checkboxes: one for whether you wish to be in the queue, and one for whether you want heroic mode queue or not.

and, i do agree on NOT separating individuals/groups. That's 2 more clicks needed for every single dungeon to check if anyone needs you. Ideally, i'd be able to see how many people are in the queues for ANY dungeon AT A GLANCE, as opposed to having to be in the queue. That way, i can increase my odds of joining a PUG quicker by going to the dungeon with the most ppl waiting.

All in all, i love the LFG tool, it has definately increased my enjoyment of the game by allowing me to group easier than ever(thank you for the 'role' buttons!!!!), but there is still so much more that can be done. The revamped LFG tool is what excites me most about 3.3!!! I can't wait to see it.

As an aside to my Hitchhiker reference, I'd like to state that I started using the LFG tool when it first came out, even though everyone (okay, not everyone, but most) hated it. Something about them feeling like they were the elite of the server, and the PUGs were the lowest of the low.

I have forever liked the idea of the LFG tool, but when they took away my ability to just willingly join the LFG chat channel, that made things slightly more difficult. I can get in with a bit of subversion, but I don't really enjoy doing that.

The only real downside I've had with the LFG tool is that it chooses what dungeons are appropriate for your level. So if you have a quest from a lower level dungeon, or just have the urge to go out and reminisce, with something like Scholomance, you don't get that option in the LFG tool. And, as stated above, you can't just /join LookingForGroup. You have to be using the LFG tool to get in.

However, in the next version of the LFG tool, I foresee a great change of pace for the better. No longer will I use the LFG tool to look for Heroic ToC and see only DPS players (which is the problem on my server at the moment, everyone's DPS, and if they're not, they're part of a guild that's raiding). More players means more options. So say we all.

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you Blizzard for the LFG tool, its one of my favourite things in the game. LFG has improved vastly from being a chat channel to the interface that exists now. This isn't ass kissing, the tool actually works and is genuinely helpful to casuals in getting groups formed up quickly. This tool brings strangers together and allows the 'lowly' to rub shoulders with the 'elite' /applause

Expand it to classic instances guys and gals to make it even better. Once again grats, top job.

This summarises succinctly one of the things I enjoy the most about WoW. Forget hardmodes in an easymode guild full of skilled/geared players. The REAL hardmode is taking an ignorant, averagely geared and skilled pug and making it work. I watched it happen last night on Jaraxxus. 1st pull no-one in this pug had a clue about removing Nether Power, wipe. 2nd pull Nether Power being removed! other effects not being dealt with, wipe. 3rd pull, pug stumbles towards a successful kill. Most gearscores were 4000 and below. Very satisfying to see that group work.

Imagine a world where realm firsts can only be obtained by a raid group that is randomly (not utterly random, you would get enough tanks/healers to have a chance of making it work) 'throw' together once per week. Could you make a 25 randoms pug work in that way? If you can't then maybe you aren't as good as you think you are. Maybe you're just riding a gravy train to loot town.

Fight elitism I say! Develop the skills of your fellow WoW players and be a TRUE star.

At a minimum I want to be able to pick all viable dungeons and raids. Being limited to only three is far too constrictive. .

I want the tool to put LFG on hold when I get into a group and then remember my choices when I leave the group.

I want the tool to have an auto spam feature that works in the LFG channel at least but it would be nice if it also spammed trade too whether I'm in a city or not. Of course the spam should be limited to either something like, "5k dps looking for group for <specific instance>" or "Need tank and heals for <specific instance>". An interval of 2 minutes per should be okay.

Bottom line. If I as an 80 want to get a group for Serpentshrine Cavern I should be able to use the tool to do it.

The two things I'm most worried about with the cross-server LFG tool are:

1) Need a better Need-Before-Greed system. Since it will know who is the tank and who is the healer, why let a hunter roll need on the Essence of Gossamer? And having someone lead and then set it to Master Loot on the last boss would be just as horrible. We just need a sane Need Before Greed system if at all possible!

2) This goes somewhat to the previous poster who wants to queue for dungeons he's considered "too low" for. I'm concerned the LFG tool will be full of free-loaders doing 500-800 dps in heroic dungeons, when they really need to make some effort to run the earlier content (or level up) to not be dragging the group down. Average ilvl would be "ok" for a cheap fix, but would have too many exploits/workarounds. Ideally this should be done with some sort of qualification system to be "approved" for each role at each tier of content. ie: until you can do ~1200 dps on a target dummy, it shouldn't let you queue for (random) heroic dungeon groups. It doesn't need to be exhaustive, just some basic testing that you're at LEAST at the low end of a dungeon.

This would also solve the problem that a lot of the under-geared people genuinely have no idea what dungeons they're supposed to be running based on their gear and abilities. The game shouldn't require research on the interwebs and addons for something as basic as "Am I ready to run dungeon X?"
