On the login page blizzard is giving a 30 day notice that you will have to upgrade to battle.net to continue playing World of warcraft after November 11th, 2009.

For all of the QQ posts I just wanted to post a couple thoughts:

1. Make a new hotmail, gmail, yahoo email just for Wow. If you want to get fancy set up a forwarding service to your regularly used e-mail so that blizzard e-mails will come to you without having to regularly log in and check the new e-mail (for the lazier ones of us out there). This will take care of the objections "I don't wanna use my e-mail for all my accounts.. HAXX HAHHAXHHAXXX"

2. Battle.net is a blizzard icon. Battle.net was around way before WoW. Remember WC3 starcraft were all played through battle.net.

3. If you hate the game so much that you don't want to spend 5 minutes doing #1 and upgrading then really.. should you be playing in the first place.

4. Make sure to update all of your account info and keep it up to date.

5. If you are really really worried about hackers: AUTHENTICATOR = NO HACKS

Just my 2 cents.

For anyone who is concerned about this being a pain, I can assure you it isn't. I saw that is was going to be mandatory and wanted to make the move before the last minute rush. I just did it this morning and I promise it took no more than five minutes of my time.

I would like to take a second to remind everyone to panic.

I actually had problems merging the account, because the battle.net site kept crashing.

It took me nearly an hour to get the 7 pages to load to merge my account.

bout damn time in my opinion

I merged with no problems several months ago, when they were giving away Battle-bot pets :)

They should totally make a sticky with this information so we don't have to rely on Good Samaritans like yourself to fill us in.
