"We have made some changes to the way creature and character nameplates display in the game and would like to get feedback from those of you on the public test realms. There are three significant changes you should notice:

* The range at which you can see the nameplates is now much longer.
* You can no longer see the nameplates through objects which block line of sight.
* Instead of the nameplates trying to sort themselves, they just overlap. We think this makes them more useful for very large groups (example: Onyxia whelps).

Please let us know how this change affects your play experience, whether through PvE or PvP."

Please visit that thread and voice your opinions, blizzard is asking for them in this case.

Cleansing totem already destroys DK's, even with the nerf, the shamans I fight in the 2600 bracket put the totem in weird spots and refresh it just as I am about to kill it.

On blades for example they put it under the bridge and behind the piller that supports the bridge, making it very very hard to kill now, let alone when I can't find it.

I would image this is just as horrible vs locks and tremor totem.

Shamans are doing very very well this season, they don't need this buff.

I'm pretty sure they meant to post in that same thread you linked:

... instead of starting your own.

You can't really buff nameplates unless you make the LoS change.

So, leave them alone?

I'd just make NPC nameplates (pets, totems, etc) still visible through LoS.

You could. Nameplates are going to be pretty helpful in a lot of situations now.

I think this change would be fun, it would reward observation and communication.

@#$% is drinking

"where"

"I saw him go under the bridge"

etc.

It would require you to watch everyone and not tunnel.

But totems must be viable out of los or they must not work out of los.

No they don't. Do aura's have to work in los? Other buffs? I'm sure you can find plenty of examples.

Only change that seems at all needed is the overlapping.

The range change needs to be done too. That makes it a ton more useful for casters and healers. However that change requires the los change otherwise you'd see mobs etc in other rooms.

do auras pulse every few seconds removing fear, poisons and diseases? with absolutely no action required from the player?

totems are easymode as is, and this makes them even more faceroll

I can understand making it easier for casters to find their target at max range. However, with the range they appear at now, you can use them as a decent measure for body pull distance on mobs of near equal(yellow) level. I suppose leveling QoL probably isn't as important as ease of caster targeting, though.

Totems are buffs sticks. If you want certain totems to be nerfed then go argue it some where else.

I like all of the changes but the LOS change :(

Nerf Prot Warrior PVP. It's the most frustrating, nerdrage generating thing ever if you are a caster. It is 100% NOT FUN.

It would be great for healers too. It would help reduce tunnel vision. You can select targets without having to use grid.
