the LOS change is a RIDICULOUS buff to shamans. Prepare to spend as much time playing hide and seek with totems as you do fighting. Blades edge will be great!

Q u o t e:

That's completely different, totems are way more powerful, they have 5 hp because they need to be able to be killed.

If a shaman can just drop one out of los that would be retardedly OP

Cleansing totem removes 75% of a DK's damage, it's hard enough to stomp as it is let alone when you can't find it.

I was not saying totems HAD to have los, so long as their nameplate can be seen out of los.

Then go argue about getting those totems nerfed. Don't use it as a justification for not implementing the nameplate changes.

It would be great for healers too. It would help reduce tunnel vision. You can select targets without having to use grid.
Well, I haven't really had a tunnel vision problem on my priest, but I can see your point.

It's not as simple as just LOS. The way the game handles LOS is a little more complicated than that. We'll try and get the thread updated, but Arena pillars should not prevent nameplates. Dungeon walls typically will.

I was wondering how you would ever think that this change wouldn't be a huge buff for totems and warrants discussion, then I saw that you don't arena.

All I want is to be able to see totems out of los.

I'd like to be able to see players out of los.

In that case... I LOVE the changes. Good work, sir!

I was arguing for the changes. GC said we both get what we wanted. I won't see nameplates if they are blocked by a dungeon wall and the DK will get to see my totems under the bridge. So its perfect!

This is a terrible change. Now I have absolutely 0 chance of beating a warrior, ret, or feral druid in arena because the only viable option was waiting out CC on my healer or on my stun by pillar kiting on my priest so I don't get instagibbed. Now with the always existent lag, I won't be able to see said enemy until he's in LoS and swinging his axe at my from seemingly 15 yards away.

This is why people should read the whole thread before posting....

Sounds like it may only be affected by the sort of LOS that prevents creatures from agroing (through certain kinds of walls), not the sort that keeps players from casting spells (trees, pillars, uneven terrain).

I'd actually prefer if it did not show for all cases of LoS. Knowing exactly where your enemy is every second kind of ruins the fun. Being able to actually hide and use LoS to your advantage beyond just juking a spell would change the metagame for the better imo.

After all, that IS what PTR is for.

So, in that case, did anything change with regard to LoS? I know I haven't been able to observe nameplates through walls in places like WSG for a while now. Before I could sit on the roof (with the flag) and see the nameplate running underneath me when alliance came through the top entrance. Haven't been able to see those in a good while.

Does this mean we won't be able to see the nameplates of characters around a corner, even if we can clearly see them with the camera view? e.g. sitting on the roof of WSG, would I be able to see the nameplates of people coming up the ramp towards me, if I'm hiding behind the wall?

Check the original thread. It's been updated and should answer your questions.

unless targeting party is a warlock and draining your HP away from through the walls in WSG.

Please fix spell reflect versus lock channels like it handles the mage arcane missiles.

Also make it to where when I reflect death Coil from a warlock it heals me as if i was the caster. Makes more sense than having it heal thelock and give him the freedom to make range with no consequence.

At least they fixed the drain soul reflect giving me un-bound soul stones.

It's not fair that you can reflect an entire Missile Barrage :( I'd say it'd make more sense to change Arcane Missiles to function the way all other channeled spells work.

Death Coil SHOULD heal the Lock when you reflect it at him. It's not you casting at him, it's the Lock casting it at himself. It hurts him and heals him. It makes sense. Also, are you seriously complaining about melee uptime as a WARRIOR against a WARLOCK? :D
