There's pretending to raid endgame on an alt on the forums!

I may be wrong, and probably am, but is there really anything in the higher levels of play (top raiding, top battlegrounds, etc.) that isn't just a continuation of the basic skills you should have learned through leveling up and basic raiding?

I often see people point to that as some sort of indicator of knowledge, but as far as I see, all that means you have knowledge of is being in a raid when the item drops. The rest is either skills you should already know before you go into the instance, or instance specific tricks that are only applicable when talking about that particular instance or encounter (and can probably be found on a strategy or youtube video and answered adequately without experiencing it firsthand anyway).

Am I missing something that comes with that level gear besides bragging rights and better stats?

See, I'm going to be honest here. I hate threads like this because it's an excuse for both sides to clash against each other with poor, fault, circular and blanket logic that is generally stereotypical and pointless.

People are not bad because they don't raid hardcore. They are also not bad because they DO raid hardcore. Seriously.

The whole, "Your are bad because you do not have raid epics." is tired. So is, "Raiding is not hard and people can be carried through because most raiders are bad and raid content is easy anyway."

So let's just not do this anymore.

Our Blizzard accounts are entirely separate from our game accounts, so my Zarhym account is used for nothing but posting. I can still log into the forums with my Blizzard account from anywhere though, just like anyone else. There are just varying access levels on the forums to flag accounts with different privileges (i.e. moderator, community manager, technical support, MVP, etc).

No, it's not worth it.

I kind of agree with the OP, no idea why people are flaming him.

While I know that our MVP's currently are very kind, and knowledgeable people in this game, it does somewhat shock me that there isn't the MVP that's giving people his guild strategies for Alone in the Darkness. Helping others with Anub'Arak heroic, and posting his view on Immortality achievements with personal experience.

The term "Elitist" gets thrown around so much nowadays. I know that our current MVPs know a lot about this game, and I completely feel that they all deserve their positions in the fullest. However, they can't compare to the hands-on experience in raiding that a "Death's Demise" or "Argent Defender" can really provide. With raiding being such a huge aspect of this game, it really shocks me that not even 1 Premonition/Blood Legion/Eternal Reign member is an R&D MVP that helps lesser progressed guilds as much as they can.

I was under the impression that GC had a whole bunch of sand shipped into his office, bought some heavy duty tanning lamps, and built a small moat to resemble a beach. I also heard that he has a personal bartender and nerfs his class whenever the bartender gives him the wrong drink (coffee with gin). I also heard this moat periodically leaks onto the Starcraft II guys down below, and this is the reason the game has taken around a million years.
