Edit - this applies to men as well, not just women being harassed, if you're a guy and being harassed, stand up and take action! The reason why I specifically stated this for female in message is because I realized most harassment (as well as !!%@) occur to women, not men; I'm not saying it doesn't happen but rarely especially in comparison

Edit - for those who think merely ignoring will work, it will NOT work, consider these form of harassment:
1 - the stalker gets ignored on one character and goes to another, since VoIP is not monitored, there is nothing I can do and he can keep making new ones
2 - the stalker is in a pug with me and also the tank/healer and removes me from party because I'm not listening to his instruction as well as his harassment

There are many more situations and many more cases where the harassment can keep up, ignore or muting does not solve it. Remember, men are men (or people in general) and will find one way or another to be scumbags.

Obviously I'm not the only female being harassed because I have a reputation as a female prior the voice chat and so on. Harassment used to be extremely harsh not only on realm forum but also on guild forum.

That was ok though, because it was a long time ago and things picked up. Meaning when reported, they took care of it ingame and since I don't read realm/guild forum I could careless. Jerks could circle jerk one another for all I care.

So time after time, I managed to pickup some skills ingame and learn features like ignore, reporting people correctly, etcetc. Far less people bother me, it went from me logging into game and getting "hey %#%*%" to "heya how are you today?". Also people that are known to say things that are typically offensive to females don't do it in front of me. Good.

This thread is intended to be a petition for Blizzard to hire a team or something of that sort to monitor and moderate voice chat.

My point is, Blizzard has to do something! If not, then I refuse to use VoIP! I don't care who it is with atm.

Remember, use the ignore function, find out a way to record their conversation, protect yourself with a pepper spray/gun/strong boyfriend/husband if it ever becomes a real life issue.

VoIP isn't moderated or monitored. What tool? I can't even report it to the police if you have read all the armchair lawyer's "advice" in my thread. I have already reported this and they aren't getting much done other than trying to console me and tell me "we are investigating, thank you".

You do not have to participate in voice chat unless you want to. I only talk to my friends, sounds like you need to do the same. You can ignore, or not join in the chat at all.

Blizzard really should be monitoring it, truth be told, and not just from an ethical standpoint, but from a business one as well. They're setting themselves up for a lot of potential backfiring here.
