Since my account is running out in 4 days and no one else has asked direct questions I would like to know before I go.

1) Why was molten core changed given it ends up being a PVE dps loss and a major PVP damage loss due to searing pain, immolate, and immolation aura being the primary damage source?

2) Why do locks have to glyph for haste and why do warlocks have to glyph shadowflame in order to make it functional. Why are these things not baseline yet?

3) Why was destro lock burst the only thing targeted for PVP balancing given the current domination of melee and healers?

4) Why was scourge strike changed to make it more effective against cloth and less effective against plate again given the current domination of melee+healers?

5) Why do I still have to reapply firestone every arena match?

6) Why am I still being stunned for a 4th and a 5th time in a 15 sec time span while being chained with siliences?

7) Why aren't there more anti-melee bubbles in the game?

8) Why is every caster in the game forced to "tank" in PVP as a primary defense strat(frost being the exception)?

9) THIS ONES IMPORTANT: Why when melee get bursted in arena with no stamina/resilience gems or enchants is your solution to nerf caster damage instead of telling them to properly prepare for PVP?

I got more questions but I'm positive "In the expansion" will be the answer.

Blizzard favors melee. This is a fact from the changes, they deny it but its bad business if they announced it.

Warlock have been scheduled for rehaul in the cataclysm expansion. I was hoping it would be through out the content patches, but it seems blizzard is more keen to wait another expansion to attempt to fix warlocks and most likely fail or quit half way through beta and ask us in the forum what we want.

Why I saying this, cause it has been repeated 2 times already and there has been communication to the community about warlock changes.

My guess is that it will be minor tweaks that won't solve a thing.

Do I hope the next expansion helps and fixes warlocks? Yes. But I am very pessimistic with the treatment they have received.

Lastly the other reason why warlocks are so weak is because of caster vs melee imbalance. Melee is very powerful and easy to master. Casters become complicated require continual facing of their target to get damage done, and since melee can run through you at no sacrifice to there DPS its a pain.

I just realized the molten core change is even dumber because demo spams shadowbolts.

What was going through their head?

For the sake of pvp conflag or chaos bolt needed to be nerfed. destro warlocks where just able to bunch up too much of their dps rotation into a single few seconds to do ludicrous burst damage.

If you're going to quote a source, at least use one with reliable numbers for comparing. Top-100 isn't representative of the whole of arena, noob.

The question is, without having an MS yet retaining cast times, dispelable immolate and LoS issues - can we ever kill a healer again? Burst WAS the only thing that brought them down.

It's going to be tough.

I'm at 3,300 SP with Fel Armor active in arena... I chain damage -> CC's -> damage ->CC to kill a priest - and it JUST comes down to the line.

With a 30% burst nerf... he's going to dispel and heal to full every time.

I'm not sure they know what they want this talent to be exactly. It's changed functionality and trees a few times already, iirc.

My best guess is this is a byproduct of wanting glyphs to be fun and exciting and not a standing against warlocks.

It's quite obvious, because other classes have the same damage output over the time frame, just the manner in how ours landed was very hard to deal with. Thought you knew warlocks walking into arenas standing still freecasting and killing people in 2 globals right off the bat.

Dks aren't in a good place right now, but buffing them against the weak isn't going to make them stronger.

lol I have so much to do in comparison to my partners in arena that just go in and apply poisons once every hour.

Because giving warlocks outs to stuns would lose its cool factor

Well because being kited is no fun so every melee has a myriad of tools to stay in range. Hitting bubbles is not fun either.

Well we are really the only other dps caster class, and it's been stated that they don't want us to tank melee. So we lost our green armor gear, our stamina pales in comparison to plate classes, and we have two actual defense mechanisms that work, one on a 30 second cd and one on a 2m cd. Isn't that enough for you?

Because forcing melee into pvp gear makes too much sense.

That's because we get nerfed every patch for traditionally stupid reasons. For example mages had better representation than locks in seasons 2-4 and yet they act like we were dominating like rogues/warriors.

Are melees actually still dominating? As far as I've seen, it's all about RMP or "caster cleave" these days. DKs definitely aren't still dominating considering they're the least represented class atm.

Im convinced that Blizz has no idea about the direction or class role that warlocks are supposed to fill. We are the premier dot class, yet our only viable spec this entire expansion has been Destro, which is all burst.

Warlocks do need some questions answered.

lol @ RealmHistory numbers being reliable.

Go to the page you linked, look at the number of 2v2 teams listed at the top, then add up the numbers from the class breakdown and divide by two. Do the same for the 3v3 teams and 5v5 if you'd like (dividing by 3 and 5 respectfully). Now go to any of the other pages (such as Team Setup) add the numbers up, and try doing anything at all to finesse them into something that resembles the numbers on the other pages of the same site. What you'll find is that none of the numbers really add up to anything.

Who cares? Just because mediocre warlocks (2000-2200 isn't even close to Gladiator range) aren't dominating like expert warlocks does not mean the expert warlocks get to play with overpowered abilities. Blizzard does sometimes decide to balance in the other direction (nerfing a spec/class because the mediocre players were dominating mediocre brackets) vis-a-vis Retribution, but that is more the exception that proves the rule. Bottom line is that a warlock is on 40% of the top 100 3v3 teams, which is higher than even rogues. Why are they that high? Because Conflag + CB combos can insta-gib people at that level of play. Ergo, nerfing Conflag and tweaking everything else is the right move.
