Over the past several months people who have converted to Battle.net accounts have seen their accounts get HACKED!!! And I for one don't think it's right for Blizzard to FORCE me to convert to a system that is WIDE-OPEN to hackers!!! I've invested far too much time and effort into my toons to have my account HACKED due to a FORCED conversion!!!
I encourage everyone who doesn't want their accounts HACKED through this conversion to VOTE with your WALLETS and your emails to BLIZZARD to put and END to this MADDNESS!!!
There has been no measurable rise in the number of accounts compromised due to conversion to Battle.net.
You see more of them because more and more accounts are Battle.net accounts.
That's all.
The bonus with Battle.net is if you are compromised, you can change your account name. You cannot do that with a WoW account. So the thief permanently has half the key to your account.

Show me a post from one person whose b.net account was hacked as the result of something other than a keylogger (since if you get keylogged it makes no difference whether you have a battle.net account or not).

There isn't some unique magical hole in the battle.net system that allows people to siphon out account information. If an account is hacked it is because of:
1. You shared your account (dumbass)
2. A keylogger was installed on your computer (still gotta say it, dumbass)
3. Someone DID break into the system, however they would take every account they possibly could and not just yours so this is possible but not a plausible explanation and applies equally to the old system.

To be honest though, most accounts that are compromised are not hacked, but are lost due to some fault of the owner. Either they gave out their account information, or downloaded a keylogger on their computer. Each of these will still compromise your account, no matter which account type you have.
You have no evidence to support the claim that Battlenet accounts more easily fall victim to such things, as most of the time it is not the account, but the user. It's also not like Blizzard posts everyone's Battlenet info in an online site that anyone can access at any time. However, if you do have a Battlenet account you are able to change your username in the event of account compromise, helping to additionally secure your account.

Your missing two very important ones that alot of people we have found who have been getting hacked lately..
4) You use the same e-mail address for B.Net login and contact info from guild/gaming forums.
5) You use the same password for your Wow account and the same guild/gaming forums.
You will find that 10 times out of 10 that these two will result in accounts being stolen... Blizzard does have good security but do you know who doesn't? PHP and any other Forums posting service being hosted on the web.
In most instances all an arguement really proves is two people are present.
Q u o t e: The only trend I saw in hacked accounts was people with accounts NOT merged were being merged with a battle.net account that the hacker created.
this is what happens more often now... people like me refuse to switch to a bnet account and a phisher/keylogger finds out and jacks your account making it harder to get back then if you just make a battle net account on your own. (because you have to use the phone service and a real person to get a bnet that is jacked switched.)
