Q u o t e:

There are actually ten (10) episodes of BlizzCast and another one was recently recorded as well. Hopefully, we'll have that out to everyone as soon as we can. We do many other things for the community and on the behalf of the community that you may not always recognize as us doing it. We're Ok with that.

We know our timing on BlizzCast isn't perfect but it takes a lot of planning and coordination to get everyone together to work on these. We're always looking for ways to make it better and more timely as well.

We have restarted the Gadgetzan Times and hopefully, in time we can get it to be a more regular monthly project versus every other month. We do community Spotlights, we are on Twitter, we're here, and working on many other projects behind the scenes including contests and informational releases.

We definitely are here and we definitely care. Look for more additions to the YouTube as well over time.

That said, here's the love= <3

Seriously. People complain all the time but I honestly can't think of a company right now that does as much for it's fans as Blizzard does (maybe Harmonix?). Thank you blue guys for generally being awesome.

I wish there was as much love on the SC2 forums as there is i the WoW forums. Seriously, just small daily tidbits of info each day will do so much. Pretend Examples: "Colossus laser beams changed to red!" "Marine shields no longer available" "Uberlisk is now in the map editor!" "BR 4 is planned to be TvP!" "Terrans are my favorite race because of ____" ect .

We are here making posts every day, Monday thru Friday. Between our entire Community staff, there are generally more than a dozen posts made per day. We choose what we respond to very carefully, and mostly serve to absorb various discussions and information.

there is no answer they can give that will satisfy the masses. the issue is 100% player to player courtesy. that can not be dictated by blizzard

I like you guys and I appreciate the info you give, but I have to call BS on this. Blizzcast and the GZTimes almost never give any information that;

a) We don't already know in some form.
b) Affects much of anything important at all.

Sometimes there's cool info in there about upcoming stuff.. but half of it is just spiced up blue posts in paragraph form, or discussions on the political and metaphysical implications of murlocs wearing top hats, and how it affects the development process.

I would rather have a blue post presenting the information in a concise manner as it comes out rather than waiting X amount of weeks for a podcast or newsletter to be meticulously compiled...but we already know half the info inside because of blue trackers and community sites.

Its nice that you guys take the time to do this stuff... but new information is not new, and my feedback in regards to these productions is, in a nutshell, that they are mediocre and disappointing, and come out too slowly to be useful.

Suggestion: Upload the Blizzcasts to the YouTube channel? They would be much more accessible that way.

Q u o t e:
Rarely do I find official responses from Blizzard staff to the myriad of threads on the forums. There are alot of pure QQ/Troll threads, granted, but all-in-all as a regular forum reader I see a preponderence of legitimate questions, ideas, and calls for clarification go unaddressed.

Blizzard is hardly a "shoestring" company. They are making a fortune on this game we all love, and while I don't begrudge them this, would it hurt to hire a knowledgeable staff member to log on and have a look at a handful of threads per hour and lend whatever answers they could?

To be honest, like certain other WoW players in the community, I can and do post replies to dozens of threads in a short span of time. Can Blizzard not also do this? I find their lack of prescence disturbing.

Were I a Blizz employee, I wouldn't mind such a task. I would think it important to have quality discourse with your fans/gamers. Also, Blizz might find that WoW players may actually have something to offer in terms of developmental context ideas and solutions for certain issues.

The WoW community is a smart, dedicated one. I, for one, would like to see some of that dedication reciprocated, and not just in the bottom-line development of the game world itself, but also in reaching out to the buying public for interaction and ideas.

In short, is more forum participation too much to ask, all mighty Blizz?

Of course if a Blue does respond that doesn't necessarily mean it's an official response. Most of the time a blue’s response is purposely left back opened just incase Blizzard changes their thought process on something. As many can tell you once the word was “never” now it’s “not currently”. Ask everyone who tried to transfer from a PvE server to a PvP server before this year.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

BlizzCast is meant to give some insight on the personalities and thoughts behind some of the things going on with each of our franchises. It is meant to entertain and contain some more personalized information. It's easier to get what we are excited about or interested in when you hear our voices than when you just read text. The reaction by the community when they meet us and see us at BlizzCon only reinforces this.

Gadgetzan Times is likewise meant to entertain and highlight some of the creativity in the community. It is not meant as a newsletter. We have our official newsletter for that.

Q u o t e:
I would rather have a blue post presenting the information in a concise manner as it comes out rather than waiting X amount of weeks for a podcast or newsletter to be meticulously compiled...but we already know half the info inside because of blue trackers and community sites.

Which means we're doing our jobs and sharing information in the most appropriate locations (the official website and forums) if you're looking at blue trackers and community sites. We have official fansites for a reason. We look to them as an additional means of community interaction and support and we do our best to support them in their endeavors.

Q u o t e:

Feedback noted.

Keep in mind, not only are we here to inform, but we are here to be caretakers of the community by promoting community and finding ways to keep the community engaged in fun and entertaining ways. So if we are in a "fun" thread, we are doing our jobs. If we are posting about maintenance, we are doing our jobs. If we are talking about upcoming changes, we are doing our jobs. If we are connecting to someone in some way whether through hard information or something more fluffy, we are doing our jobs.

You're welcome to disagree with that, but the best venue to do such a thing would be through our email wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com . :)

I will help blizz. No, I'm not a Blizz employee. This is my opinion, all in all.
Sometimes, the information that we most want or even need can't be given. Bear in mind the importance that the community gives to a Blue post. If someone put something that isn't entirely true or even something that is not very clear (I can recall some of GosthCrawler info that were missunderstood, and players created a Cataclism over it), the responses will end up losing their importance. Or even towers of flames and QQs will multiply over the time.
And I know that responses like "we are looking at it" to every thread will not be accepted by the community. And, all in all, someone be paid to put "we are looking at it" in every thread seems stupidity to me.

Calm down fellows. Some mistery is nice, learn to enjoy it. It is the secret that excites us.

Q u o t e:
The forums were created to be a place for the players to come and discuss the game.

Not to be a hotline to Blizzard.

That being said, there are new posts from Blizzard reps here daily. Some informative, some joking around with the forum audience. It's a game forum. A place to have some fun.

The Customer Service forum is really the only forum that's really here to ask Blizzard reps questions. And it's where the GM department answers questions about in-game issues.

And yet if something with you goes wrong GM tells you to post it on forums....

I think what you're asking for is like what Ghostcrawler was doing on the role forums for a long time.

While it was nice, and I really liked it, it eventually devolved into every other post on those forums being: "GC PLEASE!", "GC READ!", "BLUE PLZ!!", or "Where's my pony?!" and he had to tone down the frequency of his posting.

If someone was to step up and fill that role on the general forum, I suspect a similar thing would happen.

I can only really compare Blizzard to Mythic and at first Mythic was over the top by far the premier communicators for an online game, then the player base started rebelling at the changes to DAoC.

Then it got ugly

And the changes kept coming and getting worse and worse

The game was dying and the player base was screaming at the top of their lungs

And Mythic took all the wrong turns

When they finally did listen to the player base they had all but left it empty ghost land and the competition took over

Blizzard has been above and beyond the call of duty on community communication imo

What do I want though ? Like all the rest of the player base ?..................real hard information about design projections.

Is the game designed to be PvP 3x3 AND PvE simultaneously ? Why ?

Why are there so many Insta cast in the game now ?

These types of questions are what the dedicated gamer wants to know.

If Blizz could extend their reach just a bit further with blue speak and green speak on the harder issues I think the Player Base would calm down.

I blame Blizzard for the state of the forums. I don't think complaints and post like that should be closed but the pure amount of negative trolling should be dealt with harshly. Blizzard allowed these forums along time ago to turn into what we have now. If Blizzard had just policed this place from day 1 Blue's and the community would be able to openly communicate and have meaningfull discussion on all things in and out of WoW.

It's like the current riot that has been going on for about aweek now over the Enchanting/disenchanting changes. If you Blizzard would have had half a backbone when these forums opened you could go into 1 of those post and clear up many things but you fostered this QQ troll filled forum and then use it as
an excuse to not be forth comeing with anythign the playerbase might be up in arms about.
