It's not really meant to be a great source of honor but more like another way to get honor if you have extra shards. I'm not sure about you but by regularly doing the heroic daily quest and the WG quests, my main character is swimming in stonekeeper shards.

You can't get into heroics because you're level 23. There are people out there that will take PuGs into heroics without all the BS you list in your sig.

I don't get why it's that big of a deal. For honor purposes, if you want to be able to get more honor...either do PvE for shards to turn in, or do some PvP.
20 shards from a few 5-boss instances, doesn't even amount to 30 emblems (durr, math). Couldn't you just make the same amount, if not more from just PvPing?
The main point of the stone keeper shards, is to give PvE players a viable PvP gear source (or epic gem source). You can't expect that each turn-in will end up being worth something like 4k or 5k honor, especially when PvE people can easily have 1k+ shards. Imagine the destruction of the AH, as it gets flooded with epic gems from people buying them with honor all the time. That would eventually drop the prices of epic gems as a whole, and ruin what economy might exist on a server...at least for the gems.
The only fix for something like that (increasing shard turn-in honor), would be to increase (double) the cost of certain things purchasable for honor, which I'm sure many people wouldn't be happy about.

too bad the WG shards don't count towards the WG achievements, but that's another topic i guess :P

Ok, explain the 9 marks from WG then. 3 WG battles that you WIN shouldn't give only 2k honor. When you're on a server like mine where your faction wins WG 1/4th of the time, it's damn near impossible to get them.
