edit also the ptr crashed and came back up tooltips on spells were buged i guess with the proc and icyveins up my FB cast was .983

Nevermind the fact that your GCD is still >1 second, making this kind of pointless. Honestly, I'm fairly OK with Frost Mage damage right now. The only thing that I'd LIKE is more mobile damage. This is kind of cool because it does help that, but I don't like that it's RNG.

Probably by dropping frostbite. Since DR was linked with shattered barrier it's not nearly as useful as it once was.

Yeah. I've been thinking about dropping it... But it's SOOO nice in duels. :-P

You're probably going to see some pretty epic nerfs to RMP in the form of new shared DRs to account for the buffs to mages.

Wizard cleave should remain viable, though.

Dont count on it. Mages for some reason are shooting into the stratosphere.

Fire was great PvE dps, and then here comes Arcane being made even better recently. Its amazing in fact and drop dead easy to play.

Then the go here and tend to Frost Mage PvP a little and even add some variety in there with the permanent pet.

Crazy attention they are getting right now.

I agree

I don't think it will be in burst however, one of the reasons why RMP was allowed to permit was because of the lack of damage and the excessive amount of CC. Now that mages have burst, we'll probably see frost mages break away from their rogue and priest teams.

Though I am curious how blizz hopes to correct this so that RMP aren't OP when 3.3 comes out. I believe it's going to be through CC.

Well, I have to admit I am surprised by the amount of Mage attention in the Patch Notes as of late. I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at with the permanent pet--it sounds like you're talking about it from a PVP standpoint, which.... well... no PVP mage will use that glyph.

The likelihood that a Mage will be able to setup that little bit of added burst perfectly in sync with when his team needs it is quite a stretch of the imagination. I'll say it again, this is a very minor PVP change. It's really more of a mobile DPS buff than anything. Now when I'm kiting Beast Cleave teams around, I can spam Ice Lance inbetween Cone of Colds, Novas and Fire Blasts, hoping for a 1 second Frostbolt to throw in on the DPS target.

The QQ is getting old fast. I'd wish you guys would actually QQ about something us, the Mage community, is excited about. The amount of attention this talent change has received is rather mind blowing. You know what's really more OP than this change? The Nameplate changes!! I'll actually be able to target like an intelligent human being.

It was a PVE change, a long time ago they stated they wanted 3 tree's viable for pve/pvp...did you never think they would start to move in this direction??


I dont know if it would be enough to make frost viable in PVE, but it's moving closer.

Sorry, but i appear to have missed the documentation of this change. Looking at the PTR Notes atm @ http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html and i can't find a change to frozen core. Someone care to enlighten me?
