I can sympathize with some who wanted various parts but I'm actually really happy with the rating. Most scrubs can hump their way up to getting geared out, but the shoulders get to be something of a badge of honor showing you at least somewhat know what you're doing in arena. Having no rating requirements for anything really takes away from the competitiveness that some pvpers were looking for.

i can get the chest , helm, legs, gloves, boots, wrists, and belt that equal T6 yet i cant get the shoulders because they stand out?

so shoulders define if your good or not....i must say i laffed a good time after i read that...
you could have

a: made all s3 gear require 2k rating.... then people would stand out.
b: make it so when you hit 2k you can choose a different color for your gear...green = sub 2k...red = over 2k
c: have the shoulders be on fire like the old HWL gear
d: not freaking care what people look like and just play the dam game.



i must say that the shoulder change is probly the most stupid thing blizzard is doing in the entire world wow...#2 is this new sound crap...it makes my ventrillo sound like garbage....

Welcome to skill-based rewards. Just like PvE. Be happy that you can get welfare epics in the first place.

1800 for s3 gear

2k for weapons

They can't put a rating requirement on every single arena piece, that would be unfair to the fresh level 70s. (we had the chance to get easy epix, let the fresh 70s have them too) Two to three pieces seem like a fair number and them being weapons and shoulders is acceptable. Skill-based rewards are good, but arena is not only basing on skills, gears and class/spec play a big factor. So rating requirement on everything is probably not a good idea to balance things out.



However, 2000 rating is easier to obtain in certain battlegroups than some others.

You had better be changing the 4pc set bonus then, -1 second of concussive shot is absolutely horrible and no way better than +35 resilience :/
