So, i've been looking at the new gear thats supposed to be coming out for 2.3, and I see that much of it has a stat that allows peoples attacks to bypass a set amount of their opponents' armor. I've heard people say that this will have an adverse effect on casters, and I've heard people say that this will effect all classes equally.

So, I'm wondering; has anyone actually crunched the numbers, or worked out just what an impact this will have on the game? As a clothie who's an avid pvper, I'd really like to know.

If you look at how increases in armor increase your armor's absorption percentage you'll realize that removing 500 armor, say, from someone with 2k armor is a much greater dps increase than removing 500 armor from someone with 8k.

This is why the chicken littles on these forums are crying about casters suffering from the change.

Can you link the stats or a piece of gear with said armor penetration on it Please?

Ocular penetration is a bigger issue.

Dress in layers, and don't go downtown after midnight.

Err.. so you're saying that the season 3 armor sets will have additional armor to compensate, making penetration a moot issue so long as players are even in gear?

But what difference will that make when we lose, say, 750 of it compared to a plate or mail character losing 750 of their 2500 bonus armor?

How often do you expect to fight someone who has +100 resist to all spells?

How often do you expect to fight someone who wears armor?
