Q u o t e:

Well that's what I'm worried about, that there is a story and that story is to drum up prejudices between the Horde races weakening their unity.

Couple that with potentially marginalizing/"ruining" Thrall it's hard to be patient as these are my two favorite things(the Horde and Thrall).

Why precisely would we do that?

As for Thrall, I sincerely doubt you could call what happens "ruining" him, but neither is he a perfect leader. He's made mistakes of his own, and not all of them have to do with what people consider the biggest threats to the Horde.

I realize it's hard to be patient, but patience is what I must counsel. The story will come soon enough.

Exactly, yet we have a report about Garrosh seemingly going down that path by "kicking out" non-orcs and tauren.

Thrall I'm more patient about since it seems like you guys love him as much as we do, plus the possibilities of what he might do are pretty epic.

Tried looking for it on its own but couldn't find it.

Plus, Kisirani, look at that. Thrall's rescuing BE children like they're his own, then Garrosh comes along and kicks them out.

If I pose that sort of question, I probably don't mean to take it at face value. ;)

To elaborate a little: I know the story. I understand what's going to happen and how things will work out. I don't see a fractured Horde at the end of it. My question to you was not necessarily seeking a literal answer, but asking why you believe we would fracture one of the core concepts of the Warcraft world at this point when it's quite clear we understand how core it is. It's not that we don't understand what we're doing, but that the playerbase doesn't understand how things will work out just yet.

You're working on very limited information, and I cannot fix that problem at this point. What I can do is counsel patience and ask you to trust that we do take these concerns into account.

It's just like several weeks before BlizzCon when several blues gathered in a thread about the Greymane Wall, saying "oh no we'd NEVER open that. It would cataclysmic."

Vote Varok Saurfang for Warchief of the Horde!

This might be too much to ask; but what kind of story are we looking at here?

Are we going to see some real inter-faction politics involved? Or another heavy-handed (no offense) set of changes like the Varian Wrynn episodes, where one character just starts making calls and all the other leaders kinda just shrug and roll with it?

Of course the Horde is a coalition of various factions whom, aside from the struggle to survive as a minority, have very little in common in regards to both their cultures and thier goals. Thrall was involved in bringing these people together and it seems he has been the glue for the Horde for a long while. If he is stepping down, or being removed from power, are we actually going to see these leaders reaction to their new Warchief?

I can't imagine Garrosh would recieve the same kind of respect Thrall did.

Edit: The reason I ask is that, as an Alliance player, and a Gnome specifically; Variann Wrynn suddenly popping up and helping to reignite the war with the Horde without so much as glancing in the direction of the other factional leaders (Velen, Makketorque, Bronzebeard, etc.) really kinda made me feel a bit alienated. Like my race choice doesn't matter at all, because I'm just doing what the humans do; all the while my home city is still leaking radiation. I mean, what's the point of an Alliance if the allies aren't being consulted on such major decisions.

I can understand that Varian acted rashly at Undercity, but it seems like there should have been some sort of aftermath within the Alliance. I can't imagine that all these leaders who had just worked so hard to arrive at the tenous peace achieved at the Sunwell would so willingly dive right back into open war, and yet, silence.

All right. I'm worried still but am somewhat reassured by this.

Garrosh is a character with a lot to prove. I realize there's a great deal of consternation out there concerning the tales of what's to come, but I want to reassure you that we understand that concern. We know where you're coming from.

Why are we still going this route? With all respect, you haven't seen the entirety of who Garrosh is. You've seen a great deal of his faults, certainly, but people grow over time, and you may find, come Cataclysm, that he is not quite the disaster you portend. :)

(Mind you, that doesn't mean he's Thrall, either.)

What about Varian?

You're assuming that nothing will happen between Icecrown Citadel's release and Cataclysm's launch. That's interesting. :)

Pure speculation, seeing as we sucked the lore out of Northrend in a matter of months, you'll have to add some in order to have the end game make sense after ICC. Reason being if you don't, lore freaks will QQ!

The intellectually sophisticated person is indifferent to all genuine individuality, because relationships and reactions result from it which cannot be exhausted with logical operations.

How many blue posts has this thread gotten? People need to trust blizz a little more it's really not that inconceivable that Garrosh might improve or that we might love what they're doing in Cataclysm.

Is it just me, or does that blood-elf girl look like a double leg amputee? She's probably sitting on them, but still... "I GOTS NO LEGS!"

On topic, though, I think the character of Garrosh Hellscream is going to be interesting to watch, at the very least, because of how his attitudes are going to affect the Hordes' overall domestic and foreign policies. Are we going to become more isolationist? Expansionist is almost a given, and with a decided military taste to it, as well, but will there be other cases other than Ashenvale? How are we going to deal with Alliance prisoners (although how they're held outside of Warsong Hold gives me a rough idea)?

He may be someone whom vents his frustration on his enemies in spectacular fashion, but does that mean he's going to be bad for the storyline? No, I think not. I think with Garrosh being the anti-hero, as well as Varian Wrynn being an anti-hero, we're going to see some spectacular battles.
