He then forcefully grabs the Orphan by the head and slams his face down hard on the notepad.

Garrosh then holds up the note pad and points it at the kid - depicting a bloody impression of the Orphan's face screaming.

Garrosh: "You see that!?! That's what happens when you believe in legends!!! Do you want your face to look like this in future?!"

Thanks a lot, I just choked on my breakfast.

I feel Garrosh has a part in Thrall being captured by the Alliance navy (part of goblin quest). I am guessing copy more patches, Thrall kicks the #*@# out of Garrosh.

Though I like change, because it changes the story up a bit.

Q u o t e:
I really hope Blizzard turns Garrosh into a complete badass fighter and leader, just to shut these pansy ass. OMGNOWARPLEASE PvE/RP folks up.

And make Garrosh and Varian butt heads until they knock each other out.

I'm sure we'll get to see a side of them both that's not all jerkface mcloserpants.

And while they're running things what you're going to end up seeing is a Warcraft 3 reunion with Thrall (retired), Rexxar, Cairne (retired), Jaina, Tyrande and Malfurion teaming up to beat evil bastards in the face.

Jesus rolled a Shaman.

My personal theory is that bliz felt that the alliance and horde were getting a little too chummy coming into lich king, so they went about putting in leaders on both sides(garrosh and varian) that are less reasonable than the older guys(bolvar/thrall/cairne) and will push the interaction between the horde and alliance in a more combative direction.

Course, that's partially their fault.

The writers put an emphasis on the threat from C'thun, the Twilight Cultists, the Scourge, the Burning Legion, the Black Dragonflight, and Illidan. Aside from the low-level conflicts in Ashenvale and Arathi, the Horde and Alliance never really had a major reason to get at loggerheads.

Now, the Alliance and Forsaken ... hoo, boy ... yeah, that had some real potential there that was never followed up on until recently. And, so far, Alliance-side, we haven't seen any real repercussions Horde-side for that little tossup, aside from Sylvanas spending a short time out of 'her' city.

Q u o t e:
so they went about putting in leaders on both sides(garrosh and varian) that are less reasonable than the older guys(bolvar/thrall/cairne) and will push the interaction between the horde and alliance in a more combative direction.

Varian had reasons to distrust the Horde. A perfect storm of events put him on the 'alright, that's ENOUGH out of the Horde, we have to stop them now' column.

Garrosh ... so far, has the flimsiest reasons to throw himself at the Alliance, other than 'lol, I like to fight!'

Q u o t e:
so to be frank, blue, with your "clear understandin" of how the story plays out and my expressed concerns, can you now say that there is no need to worry about how the story would unfold with Garrosh as Warchief? or will the rumors prove true, and all Honor be removed for the Horde by the lorewriters?

I am not going to give hints on what will happen, but I will say this: we have no intention of removing all honor from the Horde and making them out to be a faction of pure evil. Thrall's honor, however, is not the only definition.

I will also say that while I have read a large number of rumors and speculation concerning what's to come, I haven't seen a single one that has the progresson of events or the reasons behind them correct. ;)

Edit for clarity.

Aw, you mean Saurfang ISN'T going to hang Garrosh upside-down and beat his head with a mallet until the stupid dribbles out?

Q u o t e:
Thrall's honor, however, is not the only definition.

The 'honor' Garrosh seems to be pursuing is the 'honor' gained through combat. At least, that's the impression the writers are giving.

However, due to his lines, and the lines of other NPCs, it's being communicated that he's pursuing that 'honor' with little thought to the future or the implications of pursuing that honor. The dark path Saurfang talks of.

The tactics he's expressed so far are of the 'rawrSMASH' variety, with little thought to supply, or sustainability, or anything a good leader would be interested in.

Or, in a short way of putting it, he'd be great in a fight, but not a war.

I imagine Garrosh to be more along the lines of King Leonidas. HIs brand of Honor and Leadership will make the horde...or the orcs to be specific, to be more Spartan than ever.

Spartan? Orcy maybe, depending. Though this isn't WH40K, so...

More or less a "Fierce" faction perhaps.

I use Spartan to define a more aggressive military based society.

I'm glad that the Horde will keep its honor. People have been worrying that Garrosh's bloodlust will get the best of him, and that's a scary path given the past.

With the glut of rumors available, for none of them to be correct makes me both scared and intrigued. Good show.

The biggest problem I have with what I've seen thus far of Garrosh is the fact that it isn't much.

I haven't seen what happens with the Horde just when the two, Garrosh and Thrall started their duel. I

have also not done the quests to talk to him in Outland.

-

What I find most concerning is that Thrall still needs an out as leader of the Horde and Saurfang

training Garrosh makes sense. However why Saurfang is not going to take leadership himself

remains to be seen, though he could have personal feelings as to why he won't take it.

-

The only problem I see here is other than what will happen between "Now" in game and "Then"

(Garrosh leading the Horde) is that there is A LOT of ground to cover as far as character development

goes. This is likely a major theme Blizzard sees as having to fill in, as they have responded to this

thread in multiple locations. Their answers here actually help to point out that we have alot to see and

we are expecting them to hold to Blizzard level of game workmanship.

-

They know this.

First he was emo, then a moron, and now Warchief as Thrall is away? Uhhhh....

Hahaha, is emotional stability and intelligence a pre-requisite to lead? If so then we have some major house cleaning to do in our government, and throughout history for that matter.

I'm sorry, I know we had a deal but I just have to spill the beans.

Garrosh and Saurfang do the fusion dance to become Saurrosh

sooo.... Saurfang won't die in ice crown, leaving Garrosh with a blood and honor bound duty along with a feeling of "this is my fault" which drives him to play a major role in killing the lich king and making him jsut as much if not more of a hero than his father was but teaching him a lesson about his own recklessness due to the death of Saurfang?

Back on topic, is there any other theories we have floating around about how this will occur, or why

Garrosh should be made Warchief? I personally don't have anything more to say besides I really think they

know where they are going with this, though we of course have yet to see it / this.
