lolHardcore... Haha! Always assuming casuals that have lives outside this game do not put any effort to earn what they have,

Please regale us with tales of the epic battles you will face in The Violet Hold to acquire the Emblem of Triumphs to buy gear you're too casual to raid with.

Q u o t e:

Assuming someone or some guild is willing to boost them over the large gap from solo/entry-level 80 gear to Emblems of Triumph, yes. I don't think it's going to be any easier for a undergeared new player to find a pick-up-group in 3.3.

There will always be the elitist-punk gap... you can't change stupid. There will also always be that gap between a new 80 and heroics. I don't know anyone who wants to run regular level 80 dungeons. That's how it is now and I don't see that changing.

Now though, you will be running heroics and getting triumph. THAT gap will definitely change. Currently, you run heroics to get conquest and doing daily heroics for triumph. Then you move to 3.2 raids for faster triumph acquisition. This recent announcement erases that dynamic and vaults you past the conquest churn... you'll get triumph instead; going from 200-226 gear to 232-245 gear instead. Two or three pieces and no one will be gear-scoring you.

The answer is "casuals don't have to work for their gear while the hardcores do."

AMIRITE?

Long as you include that hardcores gear will always be better than casuals, then ok, urrite.

Well, since you fail to distinguish casuals from people who aren't "good", you've pretty much dropped what little point you might have had.

The biggest majoprity of casuals are bads, deny it as you want i have yet to see im wrong.

And content is tuned (beside hardmodes) over their never ending crys.

Heroics were fun in BC, but scrubs hapened to wipe in in the Shatered halls, the arcatraz, MgT or even GT2.

See what hapened to ''heroics'' in woltk.

Hardcores will be gearing up for Arthas by doing Tier 10 instances.

The rest of us will be doing heroics and ICC 5-mans got get T9.

There is no problem here.

Last week we ran AQ40, BT, Sunwell, Molten Core and had a blast!

Too bad I didn't know they had been rendered obsolete.

I would disagree with you that Naxxramas is abandoned as I see groups forming for it pretty much every day. Sure it is primarily to farm emblems and there is a good chance it is filled with alts, but it is still being run.

As much as the examples from vanilla and TBC may be something you preferred, during this expansion we have been aiming to open up the content to players the whole way through and so far we have received a lot of positive feedback on it (and some negative too) but we are happy with the way it has progressed and look forward to releasing Icecrown Citadel with this in mind.

Look forward to most of your longtime raiders canceling their account too; mine is canceled as of the 20th.

Reducing the grind is what makes this MMO triumph over other MMOs.

Funny, that's not what took WoW to the top of the MMO market, actually it was just the opposite. QQcasuals weren't catered to in Vanilla or TBC yet subscription numbers grew hand over fist.

Good, as long as people stop running Ulduar all together, chances are the proto drakes will stay for a bit longer.

whys that a hardsell?

Ulduar sucks.

"Player, not the class" can logically be extended to the removal of gear and talent trees. It hasn’t been because it was about catering to a patrician class system, not improving game play.

It's not about the gear, get over it. And for the record the QQHardcores still have their hardmodes to endlessly bang their heads against if that's their "thing" and they will still get better gear from it. It's just insane to expect a company whose primary product is content to make huge investments in new product that only 5% of their customer base can access.

I am firmly in the "Blizz has evolved this game beautifully" camp. Let everyone see the content and let the hardcores have their hardmodes to flex their epeens over while flying their amored proto-drakes and sporting their "leet" titles, lol...

LOL affirmative action raiding.

What's that? Don't want to experience "progression"? Want maximum reward for minimal effort? Don't fret QQcasuals, we'll hand you shiny epics on a silver platter and hand hold you through all the content.

No wonder why half my guild has quit the game since WotLK was released.

Did half of your guild at least break level 10 before quitting?

If at first you do not succeed, sky diving may not be the right hobby for you.

Yes, yes it is. WoW has been much less grindy since Day One in comparison to MMOs that preceeded it.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I can point to three or four guilds on Chogall that raid two nights a week and have been farming Algalon for a month or more. It'd be foolish to say this doesn't happen on other servers as well. You suck at generalizing.

God forbid Blizzard design instances that all of their players should get to see, right? Unacceptable! You pay for this game so that others can raid? What kind of crap is that?

As for TBC, scrubs still wiped in 70 heroics...the fact that they could start wiping at Honored instead of Revered really didn't change things all that much.

It's funny that so many people come on here and cry that it's so easy to get gear, yet you play WoW which is known in the MMO world as being one of the easiest of them all. If you want a challenge to get gear go play Lineage 2 and stop coming on here crying it's so easy in WoW.

Since I doubt many of you have played Lineage 2 let me tell you how you get good gear. You spend 1-2 months killing the same mobs 500000000 times to get the materials, you then find a Warsmith that has the recipe for the item you want, and then you only have a 60% chance they will successfully make the item you want.

I gave positive feedback about it!!

Whatcha nay-sayers gonna do about it?? HUH?!!

I love this new Blizzard!!! I LOVE IT!!! I wish you guys were in power during vanilla WoW!!!!

Read signature.

I just want to point out that my one hander does more damage than your two hander.

With that, I'd recommend picking up S3 gear, as most people had better stats in S3 than you do now at 80.

What about it, Daddy Cool?

And since the changes to raid progression and making all raid content easily accessible to casual players, how much more have subscription numbers grown?

Q u o t e:

You'ere kidding right?

Gears from heroics are one of the biggest grind they ever made.

The term "grind" is one of those things that gets really overplayed among the community and they apply it to everything since anything in the game requires doing something. Just because it was completed once doesn't mean you are done doing things forever.

The heroic "grind" isn't really that bad since you have a wide variety of dungeons to choose from, it's not like you are running the same dungeon 5 times a day everyday, so players tend to like having this as an option to get gear.

We are also implementing in patch 3.3 a weekly raid quest that will send you to kill some raid boss for additional emblems. This will help increase the flow of traffic in places like Ulduar and Naxx especially since a lot of players that are already there to kill a boss will kill a few more.

Shark.
