mal'ganas is in the 5 man dungeon as well... but you don't kill him. i am 99% sure that's what's going to happen in the new icecrown dungeon. don't worry mr elitist you will get to kill your arthas or not who knows.

IC 5-man and IC 10/25-man are two different instances. 5-man is a dungeon, where I guess Arthas shows up and does some stuff. But it is in the 10/25-man RAIDS where Arthas will be engaged and (killed?) defeated.
It is not the same instance scaled down from the 10/25-man raids. The 5-man dungeon is it's own dungeon...Different bosses and all...

Having Arthas, the key figure of Wrath be killable is flat out irritating. Frankly, he shouldnt be killable in the 10m either. Yea, yea, I'm sure it will be a "new 5 man was just a set back, come face me for real in ICC"..but casuals have seen more of Arthas than any other end game raid boss, and that's plenty.
It's not too late to remove arthas from the 5 man. please do so before 3.3 goes live.
The way the Lich King is part of the 5 player dungeons is something we are really excited about and look forward to players seeing it... soon.

I hope its like in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness where you fight Trevor Belmont near the beginning of the game and you win when you drop him to 3/4 health. And by win I mean as Hector's broken body hits the floor Trevor demands to know how someone in Hector's position can be so weak.
Have Arthas beat us up but have the culmination of the fight be that the Argent Crusade has penetrated the Citadel (the raid) while we were shutting down defenses and causing distractions in the five man. At the end you open an Argent Crusade Treasure Chest.

I would like to say, Ill bump uglies with the guy in the 5 man. And then Ill be fighting the real war on the sands of Strand of the Ancients and in the fields of Arathi Basin while all the hard core raiders go off and mess around with zombies.

I've fought Hodir before. I didn't kill him.
"Player, not the class" can logically be extended to the removal of gear and talent trees. It hasn’t been because it was about catering to a patrician class system, not improving game play.

That still doesn't mean you fight him directly. Hell the entire fight could consist of Arthas sitting in a throne raising 5 million zombies, then after you kill them all he goes "Well.. crap" and ports out.
