Did the coins always dissappear or is this new?

In previous years they were apparantly tickets, not tokens, and carried over.

This year, they are tokens, and do not. Brewfest is over. Tokens are gone.

Last year they did have a expiration. I could be since the event has ended, and the vendors have left, the coins have been deleted so no one has a head start again for next year. I am not home now though, so can't check to see if the few I had left are still on me.

The coins had a limited duration last year too, but they were often still taking up bag space for a few days after Brewfest. This year they disappeared the second Brewfest was over.
And what Kozzae said. :)

wish there was a little heads up to this as i am in the same situation at work and cant check, but i had 50 but instead of buying a 50 token clothes piece was gonna save for next year.

i mean for the achieve if someone only bought the 2 pieces and doesnt have all 3 isnt that an unfair advantage for next year?

Insane title link so i can find it easier

It's not unfair, because they saved and spent their coins during the event. I bought all the clothes last year, so I only needed to resubscribe to BotM and buy the Elek.

They had an expiration date last year as well. That was your "heads up".

I thought it was pretty obvious when it said:
"Requires Brewfest" that they'd disappear once it was over, just like instance-bound items, such as the Kael'Thas weapons in TK (merely a setback, mind you), or the Drakes in Oculus. I admit, it's the first time we get a "requires holiday" instead of a "duration x days" or a "requires instance", but it seemed of a similar sort that they'd disappear.

I believe the coins said "requires brewfest" on them.

I still have my tickets from the original!

Don't take them away blues! I won't spend them!

The coins said "Requires Brewfest" I suspected that meant they had a limited duration. Then I looked at the hops from last year that had durations and the one that didn't, and sure enough, the cheap ones said "Requires Brewfest" and the expensive one did not. That was my hint that it would vanish after brewfest.

The tickets are permanent until you exchange them for tokens.

^ winnar!

It was abundantly clear that they'd go away, as brewfest doesn't last forever.

You used to be able to cheap the system thanks to banks not taking time off the items too. Which I suspect is why they changed to the Brewfest requirement instead of a timer.

There has been a change to the way holiday tokens and items work. If an item's tooltip says it requires that holiday, that means it will remain as long as the holiday is up and will automatically disappear from your inventory when the holiday ends. That tokens are included in this is intended.

Remember that your in-game calendar will tell you the precise time when the holidays begin and end in server time, so if you're uncertain if you're going to have enough time to complete things in the future, make sure to check your calendar.

An hour before the holiday ended, I found a brewfest group and jumped into it to do my final summon. Unfortunately, the instance servers were an hour ahead of realm time and the event had ended inside BRD, but I had an hour left outside.

Upon realizing this, I immediately hearthed and began doing the rest of the dailies outside only the find that all of my coins had vanished. I lost a large chunk of tokens I was about to use to purchase several items with.
Might there be a possibility of me getting the items I was intending to buy with those tokens from a petition?
