The Doomguard and Infernal are pets, they take up the pet slot and have a bar in which you can control their actions.
An example of a guardian would be the Fire and Earth elemental. They attack whatever is in range regardless if you wish it to be attacked, they are essentially guarding you from hostile targets. You cannot control their actions unless destroyed or you remove them. All the while Feral Spirit, pets, can be used in conjunction with guardian abilities.
You were right in your assessment that Guardians are not Pets.
However... your declaration that the Doomguard, Infernal and various enslaved demons are not pets is faulty.
If abilities such as these are used they should gain uniform avoidance just as all other pets, permanent or temporary. This is equality avoidance, not an extreme request for some massive gamebreaking buff.

There isn't a difference between a mindcontrol target and a infernal/ect...
They are both taking temporary control of an NPC. So either mind control targets should get avoidance or infernals shouldn't.
My arena teams might go to negative infinity but dude IM DARK! You cant handle this!

just dont have them replace our current demon. since they dont really have major abilities just make them be non controlable and make them attack the target we are attacking and reduce cd down to low enough to use in arena

I would check the PTR to see if they made the changes in the next patch. Also, just because they're not responding, doesn't mean they're not reading. You probably shouldn't bump too much.

The doomguard summoned from this effect is different from the one summoned by a curse of doom kill. Ritual of doom's doomguard is under your control for 15 minutes at the end of which it simply despawns.
edit: the same goes for the infernal: you control it for 60 seconds and then it leaves.
edit2: Your raid would love you if you knew your class and gemmed/enchanted/geared accordingly.

The difference with mind control is that you become the target you're controlling, it's not your actual pet. So you have the option of running out of AoEs and such. (In before something about distance and chance to break)

Never played a warlock, but I agree.
Infernals and Doomguards should actually be used. Old AV anyone?
They should be taken as a mini raid boss (in PvP) but have some downfall in summoning it that still makes it worth it.

I wish my pets were part of my spec (fel hunter provides replenish maybe, critical bites do something?), and also wish these two pets were instant (infernal) and 5 second (doomguard) cast spells that last for a short duration as a second pet.
But for now I just want them to be usable. AoE reduction please.
