I had green quest gear from Ghostlands and even the blue dagger. I replaced them with vendor gear at level 22 >.<

Ran to Ironforge 4 days after WoW came out.
So many idiot dwarves and gnomes telling me as a night elf I *Hacked* my way there.
If it wasn't for the AH only being in Ironforge, I never would have stayed.

Didn't eat and drink at the same time.

I never used any of my abilities. As a noob several years ago i basic attack white damage right cliked my way to level 10.

My first character was a warlock and it was hard. Then i tried warriors and rogues cuz i though combat is easier then casting. I couldn't figure out energy or rage.

Years later i play a shaman a happy median of caster healing and melee

I did the same turn-in you did around lvl 20. Also, when I started, I almost got to lvl 55 just with white and gray gear, cuz no one told me that there was more to choosing armor that just the armor rating. Especially for hunters and mages and the likes.

Sigh.

I still feel noobish...(don't let my guild see this post lol)

Enchanting strength on my mage... I thought I was compensating for the lack of it.

Two friends and I started playing shortly after release. I made a gnome, one made a human, and one made a night elf. We formed a party and tried to find each other by following the arrows on the mini-map.

Also, on an unrelated note, I had no idea what "threat" was. Somehow I guessed that it meant "cast time" so I took threat reducing talents hoping I could cast faster.

Not on this hunter (there werent' blood elves yet), but still.

Shot my targets to pull, then meleed when they got close. My pet helped, after they started hitting me.

You know I still kind of pull enemies with my hunter...my pet sucks. I can barely get 2 shots in. D:

This wasn't my first MMO so I never made any mistakes to call home about.

My very first mistake: questing in Ashenvale my very first rare piece of gear dropped, a mace. I equipped it, without knowing about soulbinding :(

I remember finding tons of Linen Cloth when I first started so I took up Tailoring on my warrior to do something with it (bandages, wat?). I remember thinking I was on the path to riches when I realized that 20 bolts of linen cloth were worth almost twice as much as the 40 linen cloth needed to make them, so I turned all my cloth into bolts and vendored it all for 2s a stack.

A month or so later, I found out there was something called an Auction House, and figured I was set for life. Imagine! I could buy up massive amounts of linen cloth, turn it into bolts, and vendor it all for huge profits! Imagine my dismay when I found out that stacks of linen cloth were selling for 60s apiece. XD

My first toon was a hunter. I had no idea wtf a talent spec was, so I aimlessly put points in Beast Mast.
I then saw in the spec, that a talent could make your aspect of cheetah quicker. It says "requires at least 20 points in Beast mast." So, I saved. For 20 levels.. I refused to spend my talent points, thinking 20 points would get me the talent. I got utterly pisssed when it wouldn't let me get the talent, so I deleted that character and started a new one, thinking she was glitched.

When I rolled my hunter, I would spam serpent sting on my target because I thought it'd do damage when I shot it.
Learned around level 20 or so after watching their healthbar closely that no, it does not.

Oh, and winning some epic boots while being run through ZF and selling them for 40g on the AH. I thought it was huuuuge at the time.

I also remember When i first did deadmines on my gnome warlock. GOd as was @!!*ing stupid as hell. I would immolate a elite and then run up to mlee it while my imp attacked it. I would also use #!**ty curse of weakness.

But the one that HAS TO have happened to everyone is when i was on my orc warrior with his white trash gear and xroads got attack i attacked this high level ally thinking i could defend xroads and saved the day.

Boy did i get my ass whooped.

So far the stupidest thing I have done in my week of playing was taking the boat from Menethil Harbor to Kalimdor to go get my succubus only to spend an hour running and dying from mobs 20+ levels higher than me on the wrong side of the continent. Then finding out that the boat I needed to take had moved from Menethil Harbor to Stormwind City... the place I was at before I made the long trek to Menethil in the first place -_-

The worst mistake I made really wasn't that big. All I did was ignore all professions until level 35, and then only picked up herbalism to help with cash flow.

When I first started playing, I didn't understand how Seals and Blessing and Judgements worked on my pally. I kept refreshing Seal of Righteousness, hoping that it would do amazing damage.

Quit for 2 years.

Came back, rolled a warlock. We did VC for the first time, and I had my pet set to aggressive, and I thought that refreshing a dot before it ran out and concentrating on a single target were good ideas.
