When I first started I played on the alliance side biggest mistake ever lol no just playing. My worst mistake when i started was wondering how the heck people were making money, I had no idea about professions and all I was doing to make money was selling crap I got off of mobs by lvl 15 i only had 5g and it wasnt anywhere near enough for training.

on my very first character a friend was showing me around, but he went offline and i liked the way i got experience for exploring places. So i got on the zepplin to Strangethorn at level 8..and got lost..died many times and asked people how to get back to safety.
At this point i had never used my hearth before...
EDIT: Thinking 'the auction house knows best' when it comes to putting things up for auction. I ended up leaving things purely to bids and not to sell out. I sold stacks of mithril bars for no more than 3g..when they could have gone for 20-30g

Sometimes all you can do is draw your weapon and say 'f**k it' and see what happens

First off, I made a troll because in WC 2 I couldn't kill the suckers one on one because of their regeneration. When I saw that trolls regenerated health in combat in WoW I thought I'd be unstoppable!
Second, again with the talents- I discovered around 40 that I had only used one talent point, the only one that there was a flash on the screen that told me I had attained. I had no clue that you got them every level- the "You gain x mana/health/str/agi/etc." hid it from me.
Third, I rocked the white gear until the 40s.
Fourth, I didn't find out until 50 that you could train other pets and learn abilities from them to teach your current pet, nor that other pets had other attacks. GG level 50 croc pet with rank 1 claw and rank 2 growl.
Then there was the time I went to Crossroads and got the quest to talk to the flight master and buy a ride to deliver meat to Org. I thought I'd save 50c and walk it there...
Probably the best mistake was starting off taking engineering/mining. After locking up 5 times or so on the bugged copper nodes I said screw it, I'm picking flowers. I made a fortune on Blindweed.

I had just started the game as a Nelf rogue, so i ran up the trees spiral walk way and jumped off.
I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where my body was and what that angle was for.
Also I used white daggers up to 25. At that point i found out about the AH.

My first toon was a human paladin. After clearing out Northshire Abby I headed over to Goldshire to see what everyone was doing. Met some folks and one of them asked me; "Want to head to a high level place so you can level faster?" Sure why not? So I followed them over the river suppurating Elmwood and Duskwood. I felt dread wash over me as the sky grew darker over head. My companion ran over to a black wolf to fight it, but was easily defeated. The wolf's eyes were filled with blood lust as it charged at me and ripped off my poor paladin's face. I feel to the ground dead as my companion resurrected and abandoned me in Duskwood. When I released my spirit, I found myself standing in front of an angel dressed in white. I talked to it and returned my soul to flesh. At the moment of my resurrection, a large group of ghouls came barreling towards and I once again died. The cycle of me trying to run out of the graveyard only to be eaten by zombies went on for over a half an hour until I gave up and deleted that toon.
Moral of the story, if you are a noob you should not trust another noob.

When I first started I rolled a Tauren warrior and my friend made an undead warrior. We wanted to group together, but had no idea how to reach each other. Well I had the day off work and figured I would get over to his area so that when he got home we could group up.
I asked in chat and someone told me to go to Org and take the Zepplin. I studied my maps and made the trek across the barrens, and actually did pretty well with not dying too many times.
The problem arose when I got to Org and finally found the zep tower. No one told me there were two zep, so I hopped on the first one I saw and ended up in STV.
I corpse hopped all the way to duskwood, which looking back at it I think that was pretty good. Finally I gave up and hearthed back, and of course my stone was still set at Bloodhoof village or w/e its called.
Later that day I learned about the other zep and had no problem getting to UC...

Q u o t e: I had green quest gear from Ghostlands and even the blue dagger. I replaced them with vendor gear at level 22 >.<
I didn't learn First Aid until I was in my 40s. Oops!

The worst mistake I ever made was accidentally forgetting to use that time turner thing to go back in time and save Buckbeak from that evil executioner with the huge axe. I regret it to this very day. =/

ive learned it, but ill probably never level it up, yay for playing a healing class.
The probability of success was 0%. But it seems theoretical calculation is meaningless when it comes to you all. Million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten

I initially rolled a warlock. I couldn't wait to become an awesome death dealing melee caster with a demon. I mean they can use swords. Of course they'll have awesome melee skills. That didn't go so well.

Spending four hours at level 18 on my warrior trying to find a way into moonglade on foot. When I finally made it, the only thing I found was a group of night elves erp'ing and no flight master. Found the flight master after an hour, no connecting flight paths.
Logged out deleted my warrior and rolled a rogue. Good times
