The only way to get a sex change is with the Character Recustomization and Faction Change.

At least I think so.

Transferring from one realm to another will not automatically grant you a Character Re-Customization. You would need to purchase this feature separately.

Faction Change comes with a sex change/recustomization, so it's 55$ for all three.

I may be wrong, but considering the timing and nature of this post, I think he meant faction change - which you are able to have a new sex/gender, right?

I couldn't imagine why someone would think you'd get a sex change with realm transfer.

Yes - faction changes come with a free re-customization and optional name change. Page 2 of the FAQ I think.
