I will be SERIOUSLY disappointed if I log off the night before the expansion and then log back on and the world has changed.
I'm fine with the old content "going away" and not phasing in the new content; but there better be some kind of launch event outlining (and somehow letting me take part in) the MASSIVE changes to the entire world!!

That could work; they could work in some kind of time line that better explains how everything has been "rebuilt" by claiming it all happened over a set number of years.
Just something that outlines the changes that is cool or interactive. With Northrend the boats just....appeared.....

Were you around for the Wrath Launch events? How did you miss the MASSIVE QQ that went along with the Zombie event. Or the supposed "razeing of Oggrhammer."

Zombie event was awesome, "razing" of Orgrimmar, not so much.

You do remember the scourge invasion event? Right? The boats/zepplins didn't just "show up". There was a massive event with ridiculous amounts of QQ over.
At any rate, I'm sure there with be a lead up event to Deathwing's arrival

There's always going to be stupid people who want to jump into the hardest thing possible as soon as they ding 80, but if those people didn't exist, PuGs wouldn't be a four-letter word...

People were very, very upset when the Zombie Apocalypse ruined their banking and auctioning for minutes at a time.
Since Cataclysm represents a more holistic Apocalypse, whatever they do is likely going to be major, and put a huge damper on commerce. I just hope Blizz doesn't hold back to keep people happy in their mundane little ruts.

They should bring back the Scourge Invasion, or the undead that still remain have the plague boil up a bit at random occassions. I loved pwning noobz after learning how to equip a weapon as a ghoul.
