Q u o t e:
I like the Goblins myself. I also think that many people will roll new characters in both new races just for the novelty of it. Some will stick with it. Some will only do the starting areas and go back to their main. And others won't try them until the initial excitement dies down. It's par for the course. Hopefully, there will be a little something for everyone in the new expansion worth checking out.

I think it's ridiculous to dismiss the concerns of overpopulation given how populations have settled more than 2 years after The Burning Crusade in terms of Blood Elves (and I'm not even going to get into Death Knights). I don't think anyone wants a repeat of that, and it doesn't seem like Blizzard cares in the least bit.

Q u o t e:

I think it's phased, so any non-Worgen characters would probably only be exposed to the final, "permanent" phase. Worgen characters, on the other hand, see it progress from "zomg Scourge coming, werewolves on the lose" all the way to "well! We're werewolves! Guess we better make friends with the Alliance."

It's not even Scourge that are doing the attacking. It's the Forsaken. This was strictly said in the demo that I played at BlizzCon. The Forsaken are the invading force and are what pushed the Worgen to the Alliance. Considering they had closed their gates to the Alliance, you've only yourselves to blame for them rejoining the Alliance. I mean, if Horde forces are invading then who else will they turn to?

Hey, doesn't make me feel bad in the least. A war between cannibalistic zombies and top-hat-wearing werewolves? EVERYONE wins, my friend, everyone wins.

Worgen wouldn't have joined the Horde regardless of the Forsaken attacking or not.

I can't wait to create my goblin, but I still haven't decided between a mage and a warlock though.

Imagine them in tier gear.

As an added bonus, imagine a wee little goblin warlock with an enslaved Infernal by his side.

No one is dismissing any such concern. However, some concerns are often overinflated. We absolutely care. At this point, all we know is a lot of people have been very vocal about what they think about these two races at this point in time. Some though may be lurking and not sharing their own opinions and until we see how people actually choose their races (and classes) come release, we won't know if there actually is an imbalance. People are going to ultimately play what they will enjoy most and are encouraged to.

Also keep in mind that some new race/class combinations will be opening up that may affect what people choose to play as well.

I am excited to make some sort of Worgen Melee class, either a warrior or Rogue. I really like the idea of being a badass armor wearing werewolf with a sword or two.

I would hate to overstate my own personal interest and excitement for the expansion (let alone the upcoming Icecrown). People get a bit put off by it as if I'm toeing company line versus genuine. I also don't want to assume what people will get out of the expansion, though I'm hopeful that it will knock a few proverbial socks off. ;)

Pretty much has to be from the bottom of your heart if you're typing in Blue. :)

Seriously though, I know I tell you this too much (might remember superfan#1 Blazedcurse), but go /pat yourself and all Blizzard employees within 5 yards on the back. You couldn't be getting us any more anxious for the x-pac.

Now, moar Soul Shard info pl0x! :)

Not since orcs has there been a race more suited to using rage as a resource, in my opinion. I'm just curious to see how they'll move. In-game worgen rarely use weapons, and their running animation has them drop to all fours. It looks cool, but for weapon-users it's pretty impractical.

Also I'm hoping for more "gleefully deranged" goblin faces. The goblins in the screenshots so far all seem so grim and gritty! Where's my happy little pyromaniacs?

Mearly speculation. Remember, they LEFT the Alliance and wanted nothing to do with them. It's the entire reason the wall was built to begin with.

You're just using a very weak argument as an excuse for invasion.

We have a perfectly good excuse for an invasion!

We heard they have purple loot. TO WAR!!!

Except Genn Greymane HATES Orcs.

One of the main reasons he pulled Gilneas from the Alliance is an unwillingness to spend Gilnean money and resources on keeping Orcs in internment camps instead of simply executing them.

The disco is allright... but the Macarena is terrible.

But no, it's more along the lines of... "How can something so short and cute be so freaking evil and deadly?"

Goblins... I wasn't sold on the idea at first, but as I think more about it I think that's what the horde needs. To be perfectly honest I wanted horde to have worgen, but the fact is goblins should have been on the horde a long time ago. I remember my first time coming across Booty Bay, and was like wow, why aren't these goblins attacking me? I played WC1 - WC3 and figured goblins were infact horde. (I played alliance so I could learn to play before switching to the big dogs =)

Anyways, all in all I'm ready to start my life of goblinism TODAY!!!

I kind of had the same thought in mind back in BC, when I made a female belfadin tank. "Haha, big scary monster ignoring the raid and hitting the scrawny little cheerleader!" Honestly though, it eventually felt like the joke was more on me, since I got stuck looking at this decidedly not intimidating character all the time. Plus she squawked like a chicken when crit.

But, to each their own, and if you're having fun, that's what counts. Personally, I've learned my lesson on "ironic" characters, and instead go for what really seems to fit the best. And lots and lots of undead >;)

The Alliance DID need something monstrous as the Horde already do have Tauren, Forsaken, Orcs, etc... everything 'monstrous' This will balance out the mindset of the players a lot better. With this both sides have monster(Worgen/.... Everything else Horde?) and pretty (Belf/...everything else Alliance?) options.

As for overpopulation... it won't be any different than when the Draenei and Belves were released. There was not a true "over-population" of either, except maybe bleed elves, and still that died off (atleast where I've played) If anything it's the Alliance's turn to get a greatly desired race and get a flood. (and we get to look at fewer gorilla-human models.) But honestly, if something is new people will try it out. Do you all want no new content so that there won't ever be a flood of people trying something out?

I myself will be rolling a Worgen on release. I do not care about any flavour of the momment crap, or however many other people are rolling one. I love the design and style of the worgen and I want to make a werewolf priest. There's nothing else to it. (but he will still be an alt, my main will always be a Draenei <3)

BUT I will be making a goblin too, they look just as awesome to me as... really... Goblins are just hilariously awesome! Go-cart mounts, rockets, bombs, their accents. Goblins are a perfect addition to the Horde, they now get something insane to compliment the alliance gnomes.

Everything seems well balanced and awesome to me so far. I can't see why ANYONE has anything to complain about.

Dear Playerbase;
The ONLY thing wrong with WoW, ever, is the mindsets of people who play it.
This is a MMORPG, a game that is always changing, where you have fun in whatever way suits you.
