I'd say just giving them the horse would look stupid, but they did it for the Draenei...

EDIT: But, if these Tauren are supposed to be warriors of their sun god, not the Light, then I'd see that as a reason to give them something more Tauren-appropriate.

You know I have never paid attention. What did Draenei get? I know when I ride a horse I look like I am killing it....

When you kill a Draenei they drop motes of kickass.
