If they really want Warcraft they need to beef up the BG and add ladders and resources and the like.

They already said this is why it hasn't been done. This is something they would like to do in the future,creating a ranking system for it is difficult though.

Give me an idea for a ranking system that will take into account someone who defends the flag versus someone who fights on the road.

We aren't reluctant to do a measured battleground system - we are, in fact, at work on one. However, measuring individual contributions to a battleground is a much more difficult prospect than our previous measurement systems. Having to rate each player in a 10 to 40-man fashion requires a varied and versatile tool that is capable of capturing defining moments in battleground matches and player contributions throughout the game. This is not an easy prospect. It is something we've been working hard on for some time and we hope that it will come to fruition sooner than later.

Unfortunately, we don't have a date as to when this will be added to World of Warcraft. Rest assured, this is something we want to see added to the game as much as our fans do. Once it is in place, we will all breath a collective sigh of contentment... just before we leap to our desks and join the queues to begin bashing our way to the TOP!

Perhaps fighting in the flag gives a buff of some sort keeping the wise players near to focused parts?

Its only as hard as you make it out to be. You had no problem junking BGs for Arena when it came out even when the playerbase was screaming at you. Just admit your esport is fail and bring some sanity back to WARcraft. Its funny that Warhammer can offer advancement in scenarios from day one. Stop thinking esport and start thinking day to day combat. THe majority of the player base does not give a *#*# who is on top of PvP, we jsut want to play and have some fun and feel like its worth something.

Card progression from memory for me was 3DFX Voodoo 2 SLI, Voodoo 3, Voodoo 5 , GeForce 2, Geforce 3 Ti, Geforce 5700, ATI 9600 pro, 9700, 9800, Nvidia 6800 GT, 7800 GTX, 8800 GTX, ATI 4850.

I am sure they are over the e-sport hump and are just milking the events and what not, I think they favor arena because it is signifcantly less work.

For some reason I think this will turn into a long thread. . .

Ranked BGs is something that will take time before it comes out because of its complexity. I am going to guesstimate about a month after dance studio.

If rated BGs were to be implemented, would the rewards from them increase in value? And how exactly would rankings work, anyway? In arena your team ranking usually determines what other people you play, and it is actual team play (meaning you're part of a regular team). But how would a system like that work with a bunch of single-queued people from separate realms who only end up on the same team by chance? I realize there are premades, but many players play battlegrounds to avoid the pain of playing with other people on a regular basis. It seems quite the conundrum.

I am pretty sure they could have a opt in sing in thing with temas of players on bgs to actually have team work as well.
I think as soon as they can arragne a similar team raid system they can organize bgs better.

We're at least that deep... I don't think "Virtua Fighter" has 40 on 40 brawls. At least not last time I played it. Also, my character is Pai Chan and has been ever since Sega Saturn.

Each character adds a certain amount of depth of information, that makes the process exponentially more complicated.

If the rewards are enticing enough and some changes to some mechanics to favor some team work people would actively go to battle grounds.

But I do agree they need to make a teaming system like arenas, some people do make premades, if making a group was much less painful and had good rewards I am sure people would go to them.
