So, I have two questions about this achievement and the mount for it. One is that my friends and I have been arguing about its speed, is it 280% or 310%?

And second, will it always be obtainable? With the trend of taking mounts, especially 310% mounts if the Violet PD is, out of the game after a short while of them being obtainable I'm worried I may miss out on the VPD due to some internet problems I had during Love is in the Air.

So, what is the speed, will I always be able to get it, and will it remain the same speed forever?

I know that the speed is 310 but the other questions idk

Here is what I assume will happen to keep 310% mounts to a "minimum".
It will be 310% speed. Nothing will be added to the Long Strange Trip meta until one full year or so. Perhaps the patch right after it. After the one full year or so, new things will be added each year.

If you remove this drake before I can get it, That will be the last straw and I will quit playing. Im tired of having all the things ive worked for snatched away at the last second.

I remember the outrage when they anounced that the GOTR mounts were going to be removed saying " These drakes are supposed to be hard to get " and then they took them away so no one else could get them pretty much taking all the purpose out of going back and doing those achievements.... There was a guy who used to sit outside the bank on his plauged protodrake every day enjoying his elite mount. Well now the same guy is sitting outside the same bank on a rusted protodrake...

SUGGESTION = Make the Drakes for the current Tier of content only 310% speed then when new content comes out they become 280% but still available for people who would like to go get them.

Which is why a tiered system still gives them their due props. An Icecrown or Ulduar proto means your raid (not necessarily you personally but that's another thread) is better than a raid that can only get the Naxx one. Who even uses their Naxx ones anymore once they get the Ulduar one?

And obligatory: 310% mounts rare? lol at Violet, etc

I'm curious as to the whole justification of removing the mounts from raids during the next tier now. It was stated that blizzard only wanted a very small percentage to have 310% mounts, but every 80 will eventually have a 310% mount with the violet proto drake. Isn't that a bit conflicting?

While the Violet will be somewhat common, I think people are over-estimating just how common it will be.

> It's still a degree of dedication to be on every holiday and get all of the achievements, so the very casual may have missed events, or just not care enough to do them.
> The more 'serious' players, that is, the ones who play a lot, and do a lot of content, and level 80's who's names you see frequently already have Naxx/Ulduar/Gladiator mounts, and those generally have more impressive skins then the violet appears to have from it's screenshots, so while those people will also have the Violet, they probably won't use it a lot a few weeks after Brewfest.

That mainly just leaves the somewhat dedicated collectors out there, who didn't get unlucky with things like the candies at love is in the air time.

The amount of people talking about it here is in no way a representation of the amount of people who have been completing each event as it came. The general casual doesn't come here.

And one year from now? Even if you miss one or two or four holidays in the last year, just pick them up in the next year. Even the very casual can have it over two years, even three. Since it comes from an annual event, the percentage of the population that will have this mount will steadily increase each and every year.

I'm not saying 50% of the WoW population will log in during Brewfest and get a Violet drake - I'm disputing the so-called "310% mounts are for 5% of the population" statement.

Then there's no need to be removing the old ones.

A year from now is a long time away to concern ourselves with.
For all we currently know they may intend on giving us some way of upgrading our general 280% mounts to being 310%.
Maybe in a years time new raid and pvp presents will be ... 325% or something.
