I enjoy leveling alts but even with the increased XP gain, going through the lvl 1-58 content can mean spending a lot of time grinding without quests. Having BOA items helps deal with this by not only providing additional XP but making my characters more powerful which makes the experience more fun. The thing is, the BOA items are insanely expensive! I just was wondering why they are so expensive. I believe BOA items should be cheap to encourage alt leveling and I look forward to more BOA items as I would love to have a BOA item for every slot(but at a cheaper price!).

Love your game Blizzard.

Why expensive? Because they BIND ON ACCOUNT. You can use them again and again and again... It takes what? a week or two to get one? Pfff...

Furthermore, these are items that you won't be replacing until level 80... effectively they last from level 1 to level 80 and even then can be handed down to the next alt you level (that wears the same type of armor). On top of that they are roughly equivalent to having a blue item at your every single level without having to instance or quest to get them...

Seriously you can't think these are too expensive can you?

The cost is setup in a way that we feel it shows you have a character that is at the highest level and has taken on a fair amount of the content at that level. We generally wanted players to experience the leveling as it was originally intended first, then once you have taken on those challenges, you can earn some of the items to make the process quicker for other characters.

They are not even close to being expensive. Farm Emblems and Shards and get both PvE and PvP heirlooms, that's what I did with my rogue.

I just wish they were available sooner :) Before I leveled my other characters. I still have quite a few to level up though.

Any chance that we will ever see the bind on account items able to be transfered to characters on different servers but the same account? IE, a special mail feature?

The reason they cost so much is because you are buying a piece of equipment for use on a potentially infinite number of characters.

Back in my day we leveled without the use of any fancy items.

Good point but then if you buy a plate shoulder item or something you are somewhat limited by class mechanics as to which chars can make use of it.

I mean get the valor clone shoulders and make that warrior you wanted to make... then what, you dont want a paladin and deathknights dont even hardly need them. Its a big investment for something that has limited reuse, It would be nice if you could trade them back in to the vendor for a partial refund at least.

Are there any plans to make transferring BoA items across servers/factions possible?

Way to sidestep answering the question. Here let me reiterate it for you.

WHY ARE THE BOA ITEMS SO EXPENSIVE?

We don't feel they are expensive. They are just setup so that you have to have experienced and completed a lot of the content first before getting an easier time leveling another character.

If they are expensive to you, then you're not progressed to a point where you have nothing ELSE to spend emblems on (except gems).

Love your game Blizzard.

Your first sentence is utterly false. I skipped entire zones while leveling this char through the old world and my quest log was still full.

Also, the BoA items are not expensive at all when you consider how long they will last if you have/create multiple alts.

Jebus......so many people just want loot handed to them on a plate in this game. This is so ridiculous.

The Karykarywook has retired, don't listen to Dannek.

He lost me at the part about "grinding without quests".

I never had a problem finding quests to level with.

Edit, they're not expensive.

Unless of course you're the type that shelves toons soon as you hit 80... then those items aren't made for you. Sorry.
