Please do not ruin this thread. You can voice your opinions and keep in positive.

With usual tier sets, since there is a unique set per class, there are 10 unique looking sets. With Tier 9, a design similar to Ahn'Qiraj and Sunwell gear, or more-so the original PvP armor was taken. Instead of a unique set per class, it's a unique set per armor type. However, they are different among faction and thus there are 8 unique looking sets.

In my opinion, the single problem is not that there is reduced variety among players, but rather that the sets themselves are not impressive. If the sets were impressive like, for example, the Sunwell sets, I think Tier 9 would be fine. The fact that there is a reduced number of unique sets and the design of the armor is rather bland makes Tier 9 seem even worse.

Another thing is that the uniqueness among factions is almost unnoticed. An Alliance player who is able to raid for Tier 9 gear will probably only see a Horde player wearing the opposite version of Tier 9 if in Dalaran or another area where Horde is commonly seen. Unless there is some interactivity between the Horde and Alliance in raids themselves, I believe it will be mostly unseen by the opposite faction. The uniqueness among factions was noticed with the original battleground gear because Horde and Alliance who do battlegrounds will be seeing each other, and very often.

It may seem like too much, but I think that major design changes need to be made on the armor sets (at least for the ones I've seen). Usually I appreciate the effort put into Blizzard's art design, but Tier 9 has made me feel very little effort was put into designing and modeling/texturing the armor. There has been much better designed sets in the past, even Tier 8, and I don't think Tier 9 reflects Blizzard's potential.

I understand there are many threads on this topic. I would like to have the posts consolidated, which is why I made this thread.

Keep this thread. I have no opinion on the gear personally but I do think we need to... dare I say it... even sticky this thread if it picks up attention. We need to give everybody a defined place to discuss so they have no excuse when they're straggling on their own old threads about the same thing.

In bed.

I like the sets I really do, but

I want a warlock, paladin, warrior set, not generic cloth armor alliance set 2 of 3.

The main issue I see is that they want alliance/horde to look distinctive. I do not raid with horde, if I pvp, usually people use pvp gear, which is class specific. Last but not least, these sets are just different between horde and alliance, but they dont actually look like horde or alliance sets, a good example would be the pre BC pvp sets, might not have been the greatest sets in the world, but they looked like alliance and horde.
