As with cold weather flying. Making a flight book for Level 60 an heirloom item would allow experienced players to ease the level grind without deteriorating or abbreviating the experience for new players.

Opinions?

I don't think that your suggestion is very clear.

Huh? With the patch you can fly at 60 without an heirloom. Why would you want them make it require an heirloom?

Because cold weather flying can now be purchased as an Heirloom item in the form of a book.

Ok the edited version makes even less sense than the original.

Did you miss my post. As of 3.2 you CAN fly at 60 without the help of any heirloom item.

Believe what the OP means, that since you can now also get Cold Weather Flying through Heirloom, why not also make 60 flying an Heirloom trainable thing.

The book i believe gets used up. 1000g one time fee for it that is affected by Reputation for pricing sake.

Ohhh. So in other words you are against new players getting flight at level 60. So this is just another elitist post. Glad you finally clarified that.

The new tome allows players with level 80 mains to let their alts fly in NR at 68 instead of 77.

OP suggests for regular flying skill to be the same - level 60 for players with mains and level 70 for players without mains.

Mmm, posts above me are fast...

Get over it.Some people dont want to grind with the little time they get to play WoW.making us have an 80 is a tad ridiculous when blizzard is done with the Outlands content.I understand the coldweather flying but flyers in general for OL sounds fair.

It's about the player experience. If as developers you only progress the entirety of your content with the highest level players in mind, you're going to affect the experience that you give new players. The current mindset is devaluing the pre-Wrath content, which is a bold but not necessarily wise decision on Blizzard's part.

It's like (for example) discontinuing parts one and two of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, or Episodes 4 and 5 of Starwars, and instead selling cliffnotes, to hurry viewers to the exciting finale.

My idea of fun is ruining everybody else's idea of fun.

Nobody forces new players to get the flying mount at 60 and they likely won't have the funds right away anyway.

Stop trying to disguise your elitism as regard for the welfare of the new players. It is very distasteful.

they want new people to be able to get to wjere other people are faster I see no problem with that

(oh and if you were a Lord of the Rings fan you would know that the book was never meant to be broken into 3 parts it was just one book and if you have read it it would be obvious as there is no end or begining to the "parts" )

you cliff notes analogy dose not hold water because if you are skipping killing unnessacary monsters that get in the way of your questing you have to do more quests to make up for it therfore most likley you are seeing MORE content.

I don't really see how mounts "deterioate or abbreviate" the leveling experience. Mounts don't do the quests for you nor do they kill monsters for you. By having acess to a mount at a lower level you simlpy get from point A to point B faster.

edit hope that gets me out of the grammer slammer Rizz

One of the goals of that change seems to have been abbreviating the experience for new players. They don't want new people to have to slog through a few months of old, mostly empty content before seeing any multiplayer content. To that end, they're speeding people through the old zones and getting them to where the population pools up as fast as they can without just handing people premade characters.
