Nope, it doesn't exactly do that.

Purplecadet formed a good list of problem (and it didn't address everything), but it was a fantastic list in my opinion. Ghostcrawler realized Shadow Priests were desperate for answers, and he found the perfect thread to deliver them in.

actually no.. He replied to a shadow thread... all you got was a statement that he made a mistake... And when he did reply all you did was jump on him for making a mistake.. If I was him I would think twice before replying to questions again...

This spriest is mostly retired because of the problems with the spec, but you don't see me being a douche about it. You can be reasonable and communicate your problems at the same time.

He was talking about PvE, it was hard to tell in context that he was, but oh well that's what it was MOVE ON.

That's not true. It got a response yesterday. It would have been silly to respond to every shadow priest thread with the same message and frankly we were more interested in getting the information out than we were in evaluating which thread "won the contest."

I think you guys place far too much emphasis on the identity of the OP and their post. From my POV, I wanted to answer some shadow priest questions since I had to be the moderation jerk in a couple of whiny threads and the official Q&A was so far away. And regardless of whether or not it got a response, all of that discussion got us to talking and we ended up making some changes.

My advice is to take my recent shadow priest posts as "shadow priests finally got some answers" and not an endorsement of a particular thread or player who asked them. It's hard enough to find time to visit the forums. I don't want to have to play the game of deciding which thread is the most worthy.

I wanted to make a spriest post. Here's a spriest thread that isn't total QQ. Boom.

Or maybe just the whiner like to QQ.. People happy with the spec tend not to post happy posts..

And no I am not saying shadow is fine.. But I tend to not cry about my specs... I move on to another toon or try another spec..

While the quote in question does make me slightly question what in the world was CG talking about, lets all be nice. After all, he did respond, in detail, to spreists.

Whether it was well overdue is besides the point. Whether the post makes it seem as if he has never played an spriest is besides the point. What is the point is that people were unsure what context he was speaking in. He cleared that up. /thread move along.

To be honest, if I had replied in such a snide remark IE: "If you would read over your comments before posting them in order to clear up any possible misunderstandings." I would be worried about getting hit over the head with a ban stick.

Putting a :) after your remarks makes it no less unprofessional.

Improving our WoW game and running into problems like trying to use a nice spell for pvp but it doesn't work very well is how we get to this point.

It's not really a surprise that people read it in a PvP context though, seeing as how shadow priests are objectively in a much worse relative position in PvP than in PvE. Shadow priests still bring a lot to a raid even when they don't top the meters, especially in Naxx. Now you can say "don't speak for other people not everyone feels that way", but I'm pretty confident that from your greater access to data YOU can see that the statistics bear this out.

Now obviously a little critical thinking makes it obvious what you meant, but regardless I think there are ways to improve the role of the Mind Control spell in PvP without making it OVERpowered in PvE.

in my brief experience with a Spriest, I found the only problem was starting up my dps up. once it got rolling it seemed pretty competitive dispite having mostly heal gear.

In life it is more important to do right than to be right.
In the WoW forums however, this is the opposite.
