Hey guys I just started playing my lowbie priest and I'm in WSG and I heard earlier today I can mind control people and use their abilities against their allies:

Well, you see, you right click them and i believe it begins to hit them with this weapon, in some cases dealing 80, even 90 damage with their healer mace

I hear you can buff allies when you MC NPCs. Thorim might not like it too much when you do it. But go ahead, lets all bash on GC because he may have been talking about PvP and PvE at the same time.

Yeah...mind control doesn't allow you to use their abilities, just lets you move them around (and jump them off of the ledge at LM)

Um hello did you guys even read his response. All of the questions he was answering in that post were PVP related. He was quoting a response on shadow priest PVP.

Clearly I'm not in the wrong here, he even said it himself.

I can use abilities against their allies.


So can some good shadow priest please point out this POTENT PVP TOOL to me

As long as you are REALLY close to the ledge too. The MC Break chance at anything beyond 8-10 yards is ridiculous.

If you're expecting an ability's buff to be considered without bringing both its PvP and PvE balance to the table, you're going to be sorely disappointed. The example in the question would make it too good.

Doesn't matter. What you want to read and what the case is are two different things. Buff an ability on one side, it's going to change things on another.
If you haven't been here very long, I can understand how your attempts at wit are amusing to you. The rest of us fully expected the question to be answered like that.

It's a gimmick PvE ability and near useless Arena skill. I think GC let the cat out of the bag--the developers may have no idea how some mechanics work.

Your logic is sound, but anyone who has been in these forums for long enough, or tracked blue posts since the game's launch, will know that answers are almost never so clear-cut and to the favor of whoever asks them. Again, the proposed change in the question would make the ability too good in PvE, which they consider when balancing an ability.

yes, it is very possible to know that, and if your being payed to know stuff like that, and you don't, that's bad

how would making it do the same thing in pvp, make it any more powerful in PVE?
