* Added a new Mind Amplification Dish attachment for helmets, allowing engineers to control other humanoid targets. Some restrictions apply: does not work in Arenas, dish sometimes reverses targets, unable to stack with other stat-improving head enchantments and makes your helmet look... stylish?

* The Cobalt Frag Bomb now incapacitates enemies within a 3-yard radius. A short cast time was added, but they are usable while moving. This change applies to any Cobalt Frag Bombs already created. The existing recipe now makes 3 at a time.

* Engineers can now learn to create a portable Wormhole Generator for Northrend. The Wormhole allows them to travel to different locations in Northrend, although the locations are sometimes in dangerous places.

* A new repair bot has been added, and his name is Jeeves. He is the ultimate gentleman robot butler, able to perform all the mundane tasks of repairing, selling and buying junk for your entire raid. Additionally, he can open bank boxes for skilled engineers (350+). Jeeves is not destroyed when used, but due to pressing engagements, can only be summoned once an hour. The schematic for this handsome robot was said to be hidden within the parts of another robot – hoping to be found by an engineer one day.

* Significantly reduced the cooldown on MOLL-E

* The Spynocular belt attachment has been changed to a Frag Belt. The Frag Belt periodically produces a Cobalt Frag Bomb that can be used from the belt every 10 minutes (never runs out!).

* A Steam-Powered Auctioneer has been added to the Dalaran Like Clockwork engineering shop, allowing access to one's faction Auction House. The Steam-Powered Auctioneer was programmed with a superiority chip, and will only interact with Grand Master engineers.

AND YET it still doesn't provide the same DPS level in PvE that other professions do. Also, still no good way to make cash.

If the bombs are usable in arena/pvp, then that'll be something, but otherwise we're still basically in the same spot we've always been: worse than other professions in PvE, Money Making, and PvP. The gadgets are nice, but they hardly compensate for all that.

Maybe the gadgets don't compensate for YOU, but I took Engineering four years ago FOR the gadgets. I didn't take it for a DPS advantage, and I didn't take it for PvP. I don't Arena, so that point is moot to me. I love the changes. I FINALLY have the ability to bend the game rules with Engineering again, and I can finally do some quirky stuff nobody else can do. That's all I've ever wanted from Engineering since they destroyed it with Burning Crusade. I CANNOT believe they fixed my profession... I'm still literally in shock.

the rocket glove appears to be back to beta-level damage, so it can concievably crit for 3.5k. being as it is off the global cooldown and usable every 45 seconds, you can drill someone into the floor hard with it. still worth it for arenas.

that said, i like battlegrounds and wintegrasp a lot more than i like arenas, so these changes are pretty much all win, all day for me.

Hear hear! I agree wholeheartedly with this view!

The one big fear I had with Engineering changes by QQing was a potential shift from "cool gadgets and abilities" to "stat-based DPS gear"...

Thank you Blizz for going the Ability route!

Now...DON"T give these abilities to everybody in future! pls! :P

These changes are tempting me to switch back.

Although there is one thing I'm worried about though.

Longevity.

What happens after the novelty wears off?
Will you have anything to do, or well you just be stuck mining and farming motes?

This will depend on how they handle the bombs I suppose, that is one thing we can repetitively make.
Will they have any significant effect in the new BG and SotAs?

Did they fix the Welding beam? 7k was a joke.

^ In reference to the MC cap enchant. I hope it adds a radar dish to your head, that alone would be enough for me to keep engineering forever.

Jeeves alone makes me ecstatic. Druids that are feral/resto have serious gear/space/bag issues. Being able to leave 30 peices in the bank and have them accessible while in a raid or anywhere is godly.

The AH for eng only in Dalaran is pretty excellent as well. I agree with the previous poster that this will suck if they eventually neuter these gains by giving this to everyone.

Between jeeves and the dalaran auction house, Engineer have nothing to complain about anymore! that is pretty awesome.

If this is not a joke, then I might actually stop whining about Engineering.

Three letters: switch to a profession that is meant to give bonuses to DPS classes, instead of whining about one that is meant to be focused on building fun and sometimes useful gadgets. When was engineering about teh madz deepeess anyway? Did I miss that patch?
