Q u o t e:
We've added several new changes for engineers in patch 3.2. Some of these additions may appear in the next public test realm build, and as such, we'd like to tell you what changes are coming. Please bear in mind that some of these changes may not appear in the next test build, and all of these changes are subject to revision until patch 3.2 is officially released.

Here is the latest version of the 3.2 Engineering section which will be reflected in the patch notes on our forums and website soon:

Engineering

  • Added a new Mind Amplification Dish attachment for helmets, allowing engineers to control other humanoid targets. Some restrictions apply: does not work in Arenas, dish sometimes reverses targets, unable to stack with other stat-improving head enchantments and makes your helmet look... stylish?
  • Added a schematic for a Goblin Welding Beam that can heal friendly mechanical or vehicle units.
  • Alarm-o-Bot functionality changed. Materials required reduced.
  • Box of Bombs no longer requires an anvil.
  • The Cobalt Frag Bomb now incapacitates enemies within a 3-yard radius. A short cast time was added, but they are usable while moving. This change applies to any Cobalt Frag Bombs already created. The existing recipe now makes 3 at a time.
  • Engineers can now learn to create a portable Wormhole Generator for Northrend. The Wormhole allows them to travel to different locations in Northrend, although the locations are sometimes in dangerous places.
  • Increased benefits from Hyperspeed Accelerators, Hand-Mounted Pyro Rocket and Reticulated Armor Webbing glove modifications.
  • Increased the passive bonuses provided by Springy Arachnoweave, Flexweave Underlay and Nitro Boosts.
  • Increased siege damage caused by Saronite Bombs and the Global Thermal Sapper Charge.
  • Mote Extractor now has innate tracking for gas clouds while it is in your inventory. Tracking of gas clouds has been removed from goggles.
  • A new repair bot has been added, and his name is Jeeves. He is the ultimate gentleman robot butler, able to perform all the mundane tasks of repairing, selling and buying junk for your entire raid. Additionally, he can open bank boxes for skilled engineers (350+). Jeeves is not destroyed when used, but due to pressing engagements, can only be summoned once an hour. The schematic for this handsome robot was said to be hidden within the parts of another robot – hoping to be found by an engineer one day.
  • Nitro Boosts: Now have a 5-second duration.
  • Potion Injectors now increase the amount gained by 25% when used by engineers. Quantity produced by recipes for Runic Healing and Mana Injectors has been increased.
  • Reduced the materials needed to create all engineering Dragonlings, and reduced their cooldowns, although they still cannot be used in Arenas.
  • Significantly reduced the cooldown on MOLL-E.
  • The Spynocular belt attachment has been changed to a Frag Belt. The Frag Belt periodically produces a Cobalt Frag Bomb that can be used from the belt every 10 minutes (never runs out!).
  • A Steam-Powered Auctioneer has been added to the Dalaran Like Clockwork engineering shop, allowing access to one's faction Auction House. The Steam-Powered Auctioneer was programmed with a superiority chip, and will only interact with Grand Master engineers.
  • Transporter devices are no longer classified as trinkets and can be used directly from your inventory.
  • The Ultrasafe Bullet Machine and Saronite Arrow Maker schematics have been simplified to create a full stack of the appropriate ammunition. No longer requires an anvil. Reduced the materials required to make this ammunition.

finally you guys get some good stuff our way that isnt stat based focus and its also practical and fun. Good job on this.

I will however press that engineers have more ways to make/buff/improve/destroy siege vehicles in fun ways in battlegrounds (speed boost to demolishers, 2 cannons instead of 1 in siege engines,etc..think of something).

very good upcoming changes though.

So the Brassbolt Rebreather is no more, then? =(

Any chance we can get it back?

If the cooldown isn't that bad on the Mind Control thing, we might actually start to see "LF Engineer or Priest for Naxx25 then good to go!" :O

It's good to be an engineer. Take that stick in the eye, all of you naysayers!

These things are cheap to make, stack to 20, and don't take up an elixir slot, so you can use it in conjunction with battle/guardian/flasks. Yeah, it takes up an extra item slot or two, but not a bad alternative.

Its a start but a lot of these improvements only effect city life. wheres the stuff that we actually asked for?

(lvl 80) Anti-magic bombs
(lvl 80) Goblin Landmines
(lvl 80) The Bigger One
(lvl 80) Explosive Sheep
How about having turning the invisibility belt into an enchant for belts
(lvl 80) Frost bombs
(lvl 80) Mortars
(lvl 80) Target dummies
(lvl 80) Flash Bomb
(lvl 80) Combat pets {woot we just got dragonlings perk up but that doesnt help anyone past lvl 62}
(lvl 80)The goblin dragon gun (one of my personal favorite items)
Gnomish flame turret
Linkens boomerang (not an engineering item but could turned into a crafted item)
(lvl 80) Goblin rocket helmet
A submarine mount
A speedboat mount
A fishing mount
Ground mounts that specifically say, “Can not be summoned in Dalaran.”
A zeppelin or prop-plane, that can seat 2
A quest/farming line that would give me additional vehicles options for when I go Ulduar or Wintergrasp
Trojan horse siege vehicle (…it worked once)
An item that lets me jump higher
An effect that will do a push back
An anti magic shell
A grapple hook
I want goggles that aren’t so easily replaced
I want trade Wintergrasp badges for bomb schematics
I want to learn new bomb schematics while making bombs (like alchemy)
Gravity Bombs
A sticky bomb that I can place on siege machines
Tracking beacons
I want to put a tag on a target for 15 seconds so that an anvil drops from the sky on them
Use functions on my bag slots
A steamjack battering ram that does sedge damage
A smoke bomb that will blink me away (woot ninja smoke)
A cattle prod enchant to my weapons
Water walking boots enchant
Inflatable anvil
Fear Bomb
An item that lets me fain death, possibly with a spear though my back to add 'theatrics'
Explosive Cake (Would make a way better decoy then the current decoy)
It’s really silly that there’s a 3 min timer on rocket boots if we can’t even carry a flag with it. (fact is we need to be able to flag with rocket boots. New Warsong is just cap one flag then turtle for 20 min; and is very boring. And very very few classes can pick up the flag and bolt out of the base turtling even with a full group effort. The truth is that the rocket boot enchant was half of the unfair flag returns, it was the combo of parashoot and rockets! )
Enchant that release crazy purple gas that puts close range target to sleep.
"G.E.E.K Fire" (a fire bomb that spreads due to healing)

ok i was a bit hasty, but the fact remains that 880 armor is still almost nothing, i beleive it was around .5% mitigation at around 25000 armor, and still id rather have armsman, better to have the attack miss you than take the damage, not to mention 2% threat is hard to pass up

826 armor is .73% increase in mitigation for me at like ~26000 armor, and a 1.97% decrease in damage taken. It is so so so far better than 10 parry that there isn't even a basis for comparison, if you even think that they are within the same scope you are retarded, and leaving me wondering if you even know what effective health means. And like I've said, saronite bombs are more of a threat increase than armsman is.

I didn't think of that one... I've been tempted to switch my main to an engineer from alchemy (i'm terribly bored with it).

Q u o t e:

I thought about it being a drop found on any robot you engineer... but the wording makes it specific to a single bot:

The schematic for this handsome robot was said to be hidden within the parts of another robothoping to be found by an engineer one day.

That says to me a single, lonely robot that's just roaming around. Which would be Dirkee.

Just to clarify, the Jeeves schematic has a chance to be "skinned" by engineers off of any level 70+ mechanical units. The drop rate starts incredibly low, but increases substantially based on the level and difficulty of the mechanical unit. So Ulduar bosses that can be "skinned" by engineers have a much better chance of dropping the schematic than lower-level mechanical units found in Northrend.

Singin' I don't know if I've been reborn,
Lived a past life, suffered in another time...
I don't know. Give it up.

Zarhym, can we please get Nitro Boosts that have Minor Speed on them? It's mandatory for competitive arena, and very nice for BG's, so what usually ends up happening is people who like their nitro boosts + minor speed in BG's have to use a seperate helmet AND a seperate pair of boots (nitro boosts + run meta), while in arena we use a non-speed meta with Tuskarr's Vitality.

And with the change, to properly min/max our benefits we'll need a third helmet for the Mind Control thing (not that I'm complaining about the lack of stats at all).

tl;dr: Give us access to Nitro Boosts with minor run speed and I will be 100% satisfied.

Which part?
No shot clock, on wsg so its a game of simply get a flag ahead and then turtle to keep the lead till the 20 min are up? no, i'd really like to run flag in hand with rocket boots out of these horrible turtles. what was wrong with rocket boots and flags before was that engineers were parashooting off cliffs with the speed buff and cleared the field in ridiculous times. the fix is simply parashoot drops the flag not rocket boots.

All the wanting of bomb? eh, bombs are fun.

lot of the mounts are jokes.

You're asking for way too much hombre. Take a look at other professions sometime instead of assuming we're at the bottom of the barrel. Truth of the matter is we weren't far behind.
