Seriously? I am happy that he addressed that we exist. He is aware of our concerns, both in PvE and in PvP. But I lol'd when i read this, (read sig).

We are getting changes in 3.2 people, and 95% sure it will be buffs. Just how significant will they be? /shrug

It's not an official Q&A, he just answered about 20 questions from a priest on the dmg dealing forums.

And I believe if the list is accurate, you're 6th on the list for your Q&A session. But it's subject to change. Dks were supposed to be 4th, but they were 3rd.

Guess who's last??

everyone here is callin GC an idiot but i read and they are calling him an idiot from having a plan/design for a class and trying to make it different from another one without making it underpowered or overpowered.

do you know how hard that is!?

you have to take into count every players abilty and fish out the "nerf em because i suck" complaints and the "nerf them because they truely are a bit on the powerful side" comments.

while looking at the overall abilty of everyother class to makes sure it isn't to horrible or to great aganist them.

then they have to make sure there design doesn't go an feel like a rip off of another class.

I understand that many of you have compliants, some of them good ones, you must understnd no matter what they do there will never, ever,EVER, be perfect class balance.

there will always be one class that has an advantage over another one.

I got band form the fourms for bumping a topic wtf?

Q u o t e:
He's the dev team's assigned liason to the player base, which is why most of the controversial stuff like class changes gets shoved onto him to report to the player base and take the flak from idiots like the OP who think he's the only dev anywhere, or that he makes all the development calls.

I can see how one might come to this assumption, primarily given his posting activity. However, that's not how things work -- specifically him being an "assigned liaison to the player-base". Designers are "assigned" to designing. The community team has always worked closely with the World of Warcraft design team. We tend to communicate the most with the senior and lead designers.

Ghostcrawler tries to chime in as much as possible to address concerns, confusion, answer questions, etc...

He is neither obligated or required to post ever....

However, he does so to help players better understand concepts, changes, philosophies etc... When I originally created his account during WotLK beta, the idea then was that when the expansion launched he'd stop being active -- but his posts had a strong and positive impact amongst players and "he just couldn't quit you" :P

Our team (community) began to work much closer with him in regards to external forum communication focused on game design -- where he'd bounce responses to threads off of us, and visa versa. Ghostcrawler of course isn't the only designer on the team that works to bring about better communication, but he's the subject of the thread. Tom Chilton for example communicates quite a bit on the forums, but it's usually through us, sometimes GC, etc...

One thing that makes our job much easier is how community oriented our design team is.

Could you remind him that the community needs some sort of response as to whether or not Val'Anyr is bugged or he was simply plain wrong in how he described the proc? Thanks.

Basically, GC is ignoring the CM filter to get the actual concepts out to everyone (instead of wasting his time explaining it to the middle man, who might screw it up relaying it to us).

Sorry for the lack of diplomacy.

He also has a wicked sense of humor and is comically taken out of context. If you don't always agree with the developer standpoint I sure as heck appreciate tongue in cheek comments to the community that often takes themselves entirely too seriously.

Wow, now just quoting a movie about gays will get you called a homophobe. What's next?

(sigh)... doubt it. Like you, I took it as a reference to "Brokeback Mtn" but without the homophobic innuendo.

Probably some word that starts with "L"

Words are just the captains of context.
