m'eh...some gear might look nice.

T1 and T2 looked mostly good and they were all different. This is just laziness and lack of creativity.

Q u o t e:

Recoloration is not much of a "difference" wouldn't you say? Sure there are minor details on the chestpieces like on the Paladin and the DK, but most players won't see them anyway.

Bring back whoever did the T2 art design, and give them whatever they want so they can keep designing nice armor.

Do you have a link for the paladin set I haven't seen that one yet.

Alliance plate armor sets are on MMO Champion site, toward bottom of page 3.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. However, I only ask that you wait until we have released all of the sets, both Horde and Alliance, before you come to a definitive judgement.

So we get hideous gear that all looks the same, and you are saying its to define Horde and to define alliance. yet here comes faction changes! alliance on horde and horde on alliance! (yes im aware we will look like the faction we are on). point being, you guys dont really care about the whole alliance vs horde thing, you guys just want to save money and pick more from the pockets of your costumers.

I mean, for the love of cookies, look at the hunter and shaman horde set. Looks kind of the same thing to me!

Gah. Why can't we always be happy!

Q u o t e:

Indeed, we are accommodating the long standing request to have sets be unique to each faction. It is a new way for us to move forward and really define the differences in the two respective factions. Hopefully, once there is more exposure to the sets, a greater appreciation for their art work will arise.

You will I suspect be rather disappointed then.

We have always hated copy paste sets (who cares if horde is different).

They also seem sunwellish, which by the way was one of the most hideous sets and I seem to recall some blues referring to it as "tier 7" while the community basically ignored it and called it tier 6.5.

Q u o t e:

Ultimately the reason the armor looks the way it does is because that's what Blizzard decided it would look like. They don't really have to explain why they chose the look to us other than saying: "We wanted to."

Exactly. That's what everybody else in the thread is saying.

What Blizzard wants out of these tier sets seems to be at odds with what a significant portion of the playerbase wants out of the tier sets. Arguments about it being "unrealistic" to have varied armor sets don't really have a place in this discussion, it doesn't impact things one way or the other.

And I think the playerbase is with you on wanting "realistic" looking armor. I remember the outcry against the TBC Power Rangers uniforms very well. But, that's an argument for a different thread.

We could be heroes, just for one day...

See, but the Horde Shaman and the Alliance Shaman are going to look distinctly different.

Crygil, please knock on Metzen's door and remind him that Kel'Thuzad is NOT a warlock, and never was.

Then, tell him to rename the set.

but really... it's a troubled economy and you're a booming business. i'm sure you could stand to hire even a hundred more graphic artists: probably for very cheap.

Probably not in their best interest to hire a hundred new graphic artists. I think we should at least until all of the T9 sets are released before we start up the QQ train.

Everyone, please, just panic.

Apparently 'moving forward' for Blizzard is making eight bland sets instead of ten good sets.

Alliance will soon be Horde and Horde will soon be alliance. You guys dont care about distinction, and neither do the players that want to switch. They arent real horde, half of them will get lost in Undercity anyways. They will be alliance in the skins of horde. And who cares about "Faction" differences? Im not going to be in an instance with horde for a couple of hours, im going to have to look at 25 people with the same look the entire time.

That's fine and all, but I think we've been spoiled by the tier pieces of the past. While those on the Alliance and Horde were both the same, it didn't matter, each class had their own specific look and feel to the armor. That's fine if you want to give the Alliance their own feel and the Horde their own feel, but the classes should all be different as well. I'd rather go back to Horde and Alliance looking like each other rather than a base skin of armor for both factions, just re-colored for each class. I can see doing this for special types of armor collections, but for actual tier pieces? Given your history with this, I'm expecting more than this.
