GC I'm curious why this change was made. if i remember correctly you wanted a situation where we would be chosing between damage or healing right? i see exorcism as a perfect place to fill that role.
lets divulge into the ret pve rotation for a moment shall we. art of war has no effect on exorcism so we just hit exorcism on cooldown every 15 seconds and flash of light when we get the art of war proc (if we even need it) . is there a lot of thinking required? no, not really.
now let me explain how this decision process is going to happen come 3.2 with the art of war change.
we get the art of war proc, yay! /cast exorcism. damage happens. now we're super lucky and get another proc from a crit 3 seconds later. what ever shall we do with this wonderful proc? i'll tell ya. we're going to wait another 12 seconds for exorcism to cooldown, or we're going to flash of light ourselves if needed. hmm. sounds like there isnt much thinking required in this situation either.
this was your solution to ret's depth? going from waiting on a cooldown to.....waiting on a cooldown?
would it be so hard to remove the cooldown and scale the damage appropriately so that we have an actual choice to make? because as it stands you havent changed a single thing and can expect the exact same results that you got when you let 3.1 loose on the live realms, no skill-based rotation, no depth, and just loads of QQ till you have to go back and "redesign" the damage system again.
i hope you and your guys can take another look at this "depth" you said you wanted, because its certainly not happening in 3.2 if this is all you can come up with.
