Q u o t e:
Bwaaahahahaa!! Twinks finally get what they deserve.

For years we've had to listen to these clowns talk about "I twink because I like the challenge" all while they're ganking non-twinks for easy kills. Twink-only queues?! Oh my god, I'm going to start building an ark before the torrent of tears floods my city.

On the contrary, as a twink player, I'm actually excited about this.

No more dealing with anti-twink QQ.

No more dealing with people that have no clue how a BG works.

No more level x1's slowing down the team. (not that I had a real problem with them, but now BG's will be better for both of us)

No more 'scrub' twinks that twink just for roflstomping lower geared toons.

All around, I like this.

The only concern I have is how the queues will be effected. No matter what else happens, when you split queues like this you are faced with longer queue times. We'll just have to wait and see how things play out I guess.

Does turning off EXP also turn it off for PVE? For quests and mobs?

If so, I can see Pre-BC guilds becoming a little more popular. Sure it won't be exactly the same, but people can get to 60, turn off EXP, then attempt to go through Pre-BC progression.

Same with 70 I guess.

I completely agree with everything in this post, and share your exact concern. Judging by current queue times for low-level brakets and what happened to premade queue times... we'll be sitting in queue a lot.

Question for a Blue please

First off, THIS WAS MY SUGGESTION 2 YEARS AGO WOOT!

Okay, enuf EPeening

My Blue: I see this as a incredible resource for twinks and nontwinks alike. I would like to get some clarification

1: When I turn off experience, it is all potential experience I could get in the game anywhere?

EDIT: Confirmed Yes by Blue Post

2: If answer to question 1 is Yes, does this turn off the ability to farm reputation? For example, the Furbolg medicine bag, Silverwing Sentinels Exalted Achievement?

3: If answer to question 1 is Yes, can one still complete quests and get the quest reward, just not the experience? I.e. Gurubashi Trinket

EDIT Corrected myself. thanks Neph for pointing out the error

Yes, turning off XP's will turn off all XP's, whether it's PvP or PvE XP's.

From the Q&A...

"Do these players still have an avenue to remain at a level of their choosing while still being able to engage in PvP combat?

Cory Stockton: Yes, players will have access to a new option that will allow them to turn off experience gain in PVP. This option also ensures that you will only be matched against other players that have set the same switch. Players can activate this option by talking to new NPCs, Behsten and Slahtz, near the Battlemasters in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. This new ability will cost 10 gold to turn on or off each time.

If these players disable the ability to gain experience, will this apply to PvE content as well?

Cory Stockton: Yes, this option will apply to PvE content as well as PvP. "

Did you mean to say "farm rep"? If so, I would guess that this will not turn off rep gains, only XP.

I expect it to be horrendous in the beginning, but I'm hoping things will even out eventually.

After the system has been in place for a while I expect the non-twink queues to bulk up because of the ability to earn xp's and the lack of twinks in those BG's.

I also hope that being able to turn off XP gains in both PvE and PvE will entice more people to make their own twinks, simply because it will easier with the x9 deadline removed.

It will turn off all experience gains whether in the Battleground or out of it. This can have its uses for those that perhaps just want to level to a certain level and stop.

Some possible other benefits with this (caveat being things could change in how it functions during testing):

Players who want to create "Old World" guilds and do "Classic raiding" can level to 60 (for example) then turn off Experience gains.
Players who want to level with a friend but are a faster leveler, could turn of XP gains for a bit so they could still play but not get too far ahead of their friend.
Players who like to Role-play at a certain level, can turn off the XP gains and not worry about getting outside the bounds of their character.

Interesting idea.

I hope they will also make changes that allow games to continue with low numbers of players, rather than just ending in 5 minutes. It's gonna make queue times pretty long.

If they can address this and allow a 4v4 player WSG or a 5v5 AB, well it's wouldn't be perfect but at least it wouldn't be a 35 minute queue either.

To those saying that twinks can just farm non-twinks in exp-gain BG's, we don't know yet if that's true. For example, when a flag is capped, they may give the exp to everyone in the battleground, since anyone potentially could have contributed to its capping.

Exp-gain BG's are going to get very active since people can queue for them from anywhere.

In a way, this may lend some credibility to twink pvp, since we will only be fighting each other. I hope it results in more serious players, who are unhappy with current endgame pvp, making twinks.

I also expect arenas to get more popular since they require less people. Say hello to more 3s and 5s matches at low levels.

The real worry is going to be for the fringe brackets like 59 and 69 who rely more heavily on levelers to fill their games up

It will be an absolute joy to not be 5+ levels above the zone level when you actually complete the zone. *shakes fist at all those crazy leveling "enhancements" made over the last year or so*

Is the system going to be anti-cloth classes? Us warlocks, mages, etc. don't get to capture that many flags, are we going to be left behind in the levelling process?

I'm not a blue but i'm 1000000000% sure that you can still complete quests and receive reputations. IT JUST TURNS OFF EXPERIENCE.

now if they could just bring back 60-tuned Naxx somehow....
