1. Will the water well and muffin factory be in 2.3?

2. Any news on the damage tax?

3. Will the buff to spirit be in 2.3(i know this isn't specifically a mage issue)

4. Are our AoE spells being looked at?

That's all i can think of at the moment, if you have any other questions post 'em and I'll edit them in

While I am not interested in anything this thread has to offer thus far, I will hijack it into a

It was mentioned that there is a 'doozey' of a change in patch 2.3 for mages

Lets hear some ideas

1) Damage tax removed (crosses fingers)
2) Spirit buffed on gear
3) Intellect used for evocate instead of spirit
4) Waterwell

What else?

My guess:
5) Trainable Iceblock and frost getting a new talent

I see arcane getting a good 11point talent, perhaps a new spell. Maybe even coldsnap moved to 21 pt, and frost getting a new 11 point

you are in for a doozy of a food and drink buff in patch 2.3. i'm not going to go into too much detail but the words salad shooter and rotisserie ham have come across my desk and may or may not have been approved. there will be a cafeteria full of delicious new treats for your raid. requires a reagent.

I am trying to think like a developer. New graphics and animations are harder, and I am working on a ton of those for the expansion anyway. But formula and math changes are easy. Just tweak a few numbers. Additionally, we got a lot of grief for delays in the last patch, so it would be good to make people happy briskly. Management wants to make sure we don't lose all mages, shamans, priests, and hunters when Warhammer comes out.

Spirit is a possibility, such as giving it a 20% spell damage, healing, or ranged attack power bonus per point, but its all over the place in the game, and a lot of gear and use effects are based on it. Testing would be needed.

So whats the easiest way to placate mages without making them overpowered?

Probably by reversing the easy change we made when we *thought* they were overpowered. Remove the damage tax.

QFT. I would really like to see a "Waterwell" in the patch. Sick of passing out water.

Anyone know if blizz has even thought about the idea?

Raid buffed, I get 9k mana back from evocate. I'd say it's working just fine.

I personally think the waterwell idea is brilliantly entertaining.

Yes, let have half our mana depleted at the beginning of the raid to create a water fountain for everyone to fill their jugs. THEN we can waste the other half buffing the raid, instead of drinking 2-3 times to refill our mana just to make water for the entire raid. </sarcasm>

Either way, QQing about passing around water is a pretty good dead horse. Suck it up and make water when you've got free time. You're allowed to not oblige to people who aren't considerate of your mana pool / time or rude, in my honest opinion.

Q u o t e:
1. Will the water well and muffin factory be in 2.3?

It's called Ritual of Refreshment and will allow players to pick up their own stacks of food/water, similar to a Soulwell.

Q u o t e:
2. Any news on the damage tax?

Obliterated. Damage coefficient reduction removed from Improved Fireball/Frostbolt.

Q u o t e:
3. Will the buff to spirit be in 2.3(i know this isn't specifically a mage issue)

It's been a while since I've asked, but I don't believe any sweeping Spirit based changes are planned for 2.3. I'll have to check. They're still planned, but I believe it's for a patch after 2.3.

Q u o t e:
4. Are our AoE spells being looked at?

Not for 2.3.
