Did he tell you to delete your WTF folder as well? There's a reason they named it WTF after all.

On patch day, any problem you open a ticket for: your UI did it.

"Hi, So this player was in battlegrounds floating 40 feet in the air shooting pyroblasts down at me and of course no one could kill him."

"I see, we're sorry for the inconvenience. Have you tried clearing out your /wtf/cache directory?"

"Uhmmmmmm . . ."

Most guilds haven't started their weekly raids yet. We should know soon pretty conclusively one way or the other from the East Coast guilds who should be zoning in about now.

...
And that said.. curious about the peopel who reported no rep on wave one.. but rep gains on wave 2...

So far we only have one person saying they received rep on wave 2 with 9 people in the raid (A level 60 toon). I would be interested in seeing numbers as well.

We took in X number of people.
Completed X number of waves.
Received X amount of rep from wave 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Received X amount of rep from boss.

We will be going in tomorrow, so if nothing is posted between now and then, I will track the rep gains and post tomorrow night.

I'd rather be rich than stupid.

Could it be only giving rep until revered/honored/etc?

A way to stop people farming to exalted?

That would suck, make exalted take even LONGER since boss rep is decreased. :-/

But the rep given by the bosses is supposed to be reduced as well, which would screw over people on their way through those grinds. I think either it is broken and the people saying it worked for them are blowing smoke, or there is some condition (number of people in instance, wave) that turns rep/loot gain on and off.

There are indeed protections put in place that should make it extremely difficult for very small groups of players to activate the Battle of Mount Hyjal event and be rewarded with either reputation or items from killing the incoming enemy creatures before the players suffer a defeat. Whenever an enemy wave spawns, there's a check done to see if you've killed enough of the enemy creatures. If you haven't, then loot/rep is disabled for that wave of spawns. If you have killed enough, then that wave and further waves of creatures leading up to the next boss have loot/reputation.

Under relatively normal conditions where a full raid is attempting to fight through the enemy waves of creatures to defeat a boss, all creatures past the first wave should reward reputation and have a chance at item loot.

These kinds of protections were necessary so as to not promote the creation and activation of large numbers of Hyjal instances, which could lead to performance problems for the server.

A useful Blizzard post, I'm shocked! Thanks for the info

Edit: probably should have a new thread created and this response stickied as the first post since I'm guessing the question will come up repeatedly over the next few days.

I don't get why you are so protective over hyjal rep/loot when you can 10 man mother shahraz trash in a much easier fashion

Hyjal actually has good rewards from rep, BT is grats on your trinket that may or may not be worse than BWL loot.
