It looks like the OP hit the noggenfogger a little too much.
Don't think the animation grew... maybe you shrunk?

Mage = Mutually Assured and Guaranteed Eradication. This means that when a mob sees a mage, it might as well flee for it's life... as opposed to dropping below 50% health w/o landing a hit.

Blizzard doesn't know how to patch without nerfing something and crushing people's hopes and dreams. If it's not a 10% nerf this week, you'll just have to put up with another of your spells looking impotent.

I'm not sure if this graphic bug only happens to me , but i can see someones Ice Shield long before the person's character model showed up , from a distance.
Great for big wide open zones like SMV , when i was PvP'ing with my priest....
......bad for me now i rolled a Frost Mage :(

To help you bear with the pain until a patch is released that carries a fix, it may help to know that in 2.3 we're planning a change for Ice Barrier to gain additional benefit from spell damage bonuses. However, the base absorb values of ranks 5 and 6 have been reduced.

Wait. Making ice barrier absorb more is great, but you're then going to reduce the amount it absorbs? 1175 damage is nothing...
I've got an ice block where my heart used to be.

Overall that sounds like... not much of a change.

I think that really depends on the amount of +spell damage that is applied. However this could effect arena mages, who don't have as much +spell damage.
