Q u o t e:

There is quite a bit coming for you in patch 2.3, which should have a quick release turn-around, at least when time between 2.1 and 2.2 due to the massive undertaking that was patch 2.2 as a result of voice chat and the major sound changes.

Question: are you at liberty to say how close ZA is to completion? I imagine that would be the major hold up on 2.3 aside from class balance concerns.

And this voice chat that made the patch take a few MONTHS to release is where?

edit: never mind I forgot about all the productive work done to changing certain classes shoulders.

C'mon --lets play nice. There is a solid plan in place concerning voice chat which you can read about on the general forums, and I believe the PTR forums. In short, we'll be activating it very soon. We wanted to keep it disabled when 2.2 went live so we can focus first on any sounds issues that were present.

Zul'Aman is done. We just need to get the raid dungeon on the public test realms, and make sure it sees extensive testing.

Don't worry, it won't require the same amount of testing as voice chat. I feel few truly understand what it took to impliment voice chat, and test it properly.

No more diminishing on frost shock is awesome.

Is the changes to mental quickness still going to happen? It seemed pretty powerful (and awesome) from the screenies I saw from blizzcon.

Another quick one and I promise not to be totally hacked off if you can't give a straight answer:

How long before we get to see a comprehensive list of what is planned? I only ask this so that if it is not to be in a timely fashon, our expectations will not be all that incredibly high. I know you can't give dates. But surely you can say that we SHOULD hear more in, say about a week or so?

The brewfest is slated to start next week, and i'm guessing 2.3 will be on the ptr right after that. I would imagine that we will see the changes in 1-2 weeks.

Your on fire today Eyonix.

Any chances for any abilities to help us close the gap between us and our opponents, aside from Frost Shock?

You're welcome. No changes to those abilities, and while not the same, in patch 2.3 frost shock will no longer be subject to diminishing returns. This should prove useful.

I believe the bolded part refers to Frost Shock now being different other than the lack of diminishing returns? How will it be different? Less snare? Less range/damage? Will this have PvE kiting implications?

No diminishing returns on Frostshock, while useful, isn't a huge boon in the way most arena matches pan out. I suppose it could make us slightly more viable in 2's/3's.

Can you just give us all Warstomp? :)

Eyonix (or a poster that knows this, I've been out of touch) if you're still reading this/around, are the shaman changes we saw at Blizzcon currently planned to be released (in whatever form) in 2.3? Or are we looking at 2.4+ more likely?

Edit: Errr, apologies, looks like you sort of answered this in your first post here.

hey, just wanted to say thanks for breaking restoration shaman tier 6.

the change from 10% mana reduction on chain heal to 10% mana reduction to lesser healing wave was unwarranted and ultimately worthless. do u play this class in raid instances? it just makes no sense.

but thats not even what gets me, the funniest part about this whole change is that IT DOESNT EVEN WORK.
my lesser healing waves still cost 418 mana (5% less from talents). WHERES THE OTHER 10%!?!? what a joke, not only is it a terrible set bonus, but it doesnt even work if i wanted it to. Not only that, but ive heard the 4 piece set bonus isnt working either, what a slap in the face...fix asap bud. dont even reply, just do it.

edit: i'll play nice if you give shaman restoration t6 the respect it deserves. no other class in the game is complaining about their end game bonuses - why does ours suck as of yesterday?! hook us up with:
2 piece: 10% mana reduction on Chain Heal
4 piece: 5% increased healing done on Chain Heal.

best of both worlds. :)

Eyonix, can you talk to us for a moment about measuring our performance?

As you mentioned in your original response, things for enhance shaman are not as 'bad as they seem'. Certainly no nay-sayers about the spec in my guild. However, it is often difficult to truly understand (and demonstrate to others) the contribution that Enhancement makes because things like Windfury procs for Warriors/Rogues, searing totem damage, etc are not well defined in the combat log. There's no way to go through a log file or a WowWebStat parse and conclusively say "ahh yes, the Enhancement shaman did 800 DPS on his own, and we can see here that he added 200 DPS to each of his 4 group members."

Thoughts?
