I think I've done ok with increasing my +healing over 1500, but I was politely told my Crit Chance stinks lol. Right now it's very low (6.93% ). Why is it so low and is there anything like enchants or items I can work on getting to help increase that?

I really appreciate all the advice I can get!

Thank you,
Muy~

Why do people call their advice "two cents" when it's actually worthless?

You're kidding right? Get as much +crit as you can so that your Inspiration buff (which I'm sure you got since it is the essential priest talent) can proc more often on the ranged-dps.

We're also going to be adding some + damage onto healing gear to help out on that end, but like the other said, I wouldn't worry about the crit chance quite as much in this regard. It can definitely help, but don't get it and sacrifice the +healing for it unless you are getting into crit dependent fights such as some mob fights or PvP.

First?

First!

Add +Dmg onto healing gear to help with what? And by adding +Dmg to healing gear, aren't you just gimping the piece for healing?

Sigh. Just because we don't have 30% crit doesn't mean Inspiration is a bad talent. Dont make me cross post EJ again.

No, he's serious. We don't really need much crit - you sacrifice spirit and regen for it, and that's not what priests are about.

Not quite what you're thinking. I think the devs are planning on making a percent of +healing also apply as +damage so that healers can grind effectively in their healing gear.

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Ok, was just making sure.

But the OP didn't say anything about +Dmg at all, just his crit, which if I read correctly, had everything to do with healing only.

You have 12% crit, not 7... It doesn't matter for you if your frost spell crit % is at 7%, only your Holy crit % matters.

And 12% is just fine.

Thanky ou Neth for confirming! Yes I was wondering about this I wrote a post earlier about it because of some math I did off the top of my head. I was getting bummed because damage gear seemed much better for PVP than healing and I've used all my hard time getting healing pieces, what I figured was...

Healing gear gets a 1.5 to 1.0 item value ratio to damage gear, meaning if a piece of damage gear is given +100 damage the healing gear will get +150 healing. But if you think about it a character wearing both damage/healing gear will essentially get +200 total benefit compared to +150 total benefit.

Granted you fill your roles by damaging or healing you would want to fill your role better. But it still seems to me in 2v2 arena for example once a healers partner goes down then the healer has crippled themselves overall by wearing healing gear.

The fix? Buff healing gear to have a 2.0 to 1.0 ratio with damage gear or apply a modifier such that 33.33% of + heal goes to + damage. (ie. 150 X 1.3333 = 199.995)

Are my numbers right? how much off a buff will healing gear get?

This is correct. It's actually in addition to the healing and is "free". It's not going to reduce the healing bonus on the gear. It's going to be in addition.

I believe that it was said at BlizzCon that it would be about 1/3 of healing, but that's not gospel and could change.
