Q u o t e:
I agree with the guy saying his shaman is too fun to stop playing him. I'm in the same boat. I definitely don't think were worthless by any stretch of imagination, but I do get a little down, when I watch my other friends solo heal 10 man ulduar content with ease, & when I am ooming on hard modes twice, going through an innervate and 2 mana tides, while my healing partner didn't even use any of his cooldowns and ends the fight at 20%. (And we are in similar gear)

How could you not be demoralized by that? I'll live, I really do love my earthshield, and to be honest i just love the play style of shamans. Earthshield is really what made me like resto, easily our best spell by leaps and bounds. (especially if your the only resto)

Although enhancement is probably my favorite, although I really wish they didn't throw 2 handed viability out of the question (especially when they are hooking up DKs to be dual wield viable), the spec is so unique and awesome, well atleast it used to be, as of now I still like it (windfury...drool) I really am not a big fan of the dogs at all, they are nice, but alot of situations they will die due to the lack of control. (talking mainly pve)

Ele is just way to boring for me to play. I get pushed in to it sometimes b/c they want totem of wrath, but I absolutely can't stand it.

Sorry to derail the thread. Just love my shammy, and I am all about getting rid of heroism, I've known since that buff came out, that it would hold us back for as long as we had it, and so far I would say my prediction is true.

Enhance and Resto are really cool

I'm a competitive person so the only thing stopping me from rolling a shaman is current mechanics and the ignorance they've faced for YEARS now.

YEARS. Seriously, Blizzard?

You're only hurting yourselves. Oh, and maybe a million plus people.

Q u o t e:
They just need to completely start over with our class. We'll never work until we have [MS], Execute, Wild Growth, Thistle Tea, Innervate, Scourge Strike, no mana and can fly.

Q u o t e:
Have either of you "love my shaman" people played another level 80 healer in the same content?

I've been playing an 80 druid in Arenas / BGs and it's 10x more fun than my shaman EVER was.
I also played my priest in arenas / BGs at 70 (not as high rated or seriously as I play this druid) and that was a lot more fun than the shaman too.

I really don't see what you can find appealing about shaman healing in comparison to others:
1.) Weakest instant heals
2.) Least mobility
3.) Tons of wasted GCDs on totems
4.) Tons of wasted GCDs refreshing shields
5.) Riptide is an 800 mana crappy haste trinket
6.) Least offensive healer
7.) Worst CC

Seriously, it's not even just a case of "the grass is always greener on the other side." I'm on the other side now, and shamans look like garbage from here.

I don't know Konway, I've had alot of fun on my shaman i played it seasons 1-4 with a warrior and up to 2200 this season with the same warrior and i'll agree this season was more frustrating than fun. But recently I started playing with that same partners alt rogue and after getting him some gear we have been moving up nicely and we have so much more control over the match than with a traditional melee dps. While my partner is riding their dps I can be much more offensive with purges, shocks, or I can try and find time to drink if its really needed.

As for a few of your points they are not wasted GCDs on our totems because they do something for us. Riptide is lackluster for its mana but the rocket heals are worth it or we wouldnt use it. Our CC is terrible by ourselves, but with my rogue partner we are able to take advantage of many full duration hexs and if a hex goes off, its more time for me to go on the offense also.

I also enjoy being a shaman because even though I probably wont get gladiator or reach 3000+++ ratings I know I worked hard for whatever I get and thats better than people at every turn saying "lolnice faceroll druid skillzz" like I see every day in game and on here. Sorry for the long post but all the shaman I see are so negative now, and someone has to say the good stuff to =P. Goodluck with your druid, shaman, or whatever you end up as.

Q u o t e:
GC state they were fine with Shamans using HW with NS. And again, the IWS nerf wasn't to make Shamans use HW more often, it was to nerf LHW efficiency.
You almost got the point here, so I'm going to break this part down a bit and I think you'll catch it.

The nerf reduced LHW efficiency. (obvious)
LHW is the "go to" Shaman spell, not HW or CH, which are both situational. (blue confirmed)
Shaman ended up too inefficient, to the point that they need help. (blue confirmed)

That's why there is a WTF thread on this. We basically have confirmation that they caused the situation they're now trying to undo. Regardless of how they go about fixing that situation now, it was definitely WTF-worthy.

Shamans are, by far, the least offensive healer in the game now.
Now now, purge that thought from your head.

Q u o t e:
"Shamans" isn't a word. There is no plural form of Shaman, because you only need Heroism once.

(Sorry, but I've been sitting on that joke and this is by far the best thread to put it in.)

Bolinger described people that try to be hardcore prescriptivists (joke or not) as Language Shamans.

Notice the plural morpheme -s.

Good call!
Makes me wonder if Tauren are going to be speaking Ebonics at me, though.

GG hypocrite, maybe YOU'RE just reading what YOU want to see there.

There's no mention of PvE in my original post either.

Honestly, I don't know how you can function in real life on a daily basis when you fail to realize something so simple.

Thank you, that part really irked me as well.

Totem of the Crusader. 13% of base mana. The Totem increases mounted movement speed by 20% to all party and raid members within 30 yards. Lasts 5 minutes.

Your'e taking my quote of "We're less concerned about Healing Wave than we are Chain Heal. As you point out, it does have a role with Nature's Swiftness..." and making it do all sorts of crazy things that I never intended for it to do. :)

We have changed Healing Way to work better with HW and we have changed Improved Water Shield to also work with CH. We also dropped the cooldown of NS to 2 min so that you can HW more often. We'll try to make a post of all of the Resto changes soon.

I love you.

Question--do you intend to change the way water shield works? This will only really force us to refresh the shield even more now than we did before, forcing us to expend a valuable global cooldown even more frequently.

Thank god there are still some people on these forums that aren't stuck at a 3rd grade reading level!!

Although I'm surprised to see it's a Night Elf Death Knight schooling someone else ;)
Every DK has played another class at some point, and bonus miss chance needs no explanation :D
Touche though.
