hunters have considerably more tools to run away from/slow enemies. when everything the melee has is on cd, the hunter still has many things to use. it requires less skill from the hunter.

5 weak abilities with repercussions do not mean you are better off then someone with 3-4 very strong counters. Stop tallying and play the game as a hunter, then get back to us.

We don't typically make big announcements deep in forum posts where players have to hunt for them. Big changes that we don't want you to miss are promiment, often made by CMs, and released around the world at the same time. We're not lurking around just waiting for someone to ask the right question before we spring changes on you.

What about the little changes? When I resubbed after 8-10 weeks off, I noticed a few pets were nerfed, cosmetically.

I keep hearing how the Devs want pet diversity, but the warpstalker that could change color no longer does so. Also Arikara no longer summons in a puff of smoke. However the same Death Knight ghoul changes skin tones all the time when you dismount, the permanent one. Was it really game breaking that those little perks had to be removed, which had Zero impact on the actual game, but was simply neat to have?

What's with all the marine crap? Nobody cares, twit. I myself played this game for the last 4 years serving in the military, as did a lot of my friends. It doesn't make you special.

It's obvious you've been in the military for not very long, probably still a private, probably been in less than 2 years. That's why you still boast in video game forums and other places where people don't give a damn. You'll get over it soon enough, and perhaps discover other traits about yourself that you can talk about.

Also, all the references of hunter abilities to "marine teachings". Hahaha. This is a video game, not a reality simulator. Get over yourself.

6 years this August, and I'm not a Private, I'm a Corporal. I have the Blood Stripe to prove it.

No? Then here...

LEARN

TO

F**KING

STRAFE

But seriously, learn to strafe. I know hunters are gimped, but strafing will help you greatly against those ret paladins.

And as for complexity/skill required, as a frostmage I have atleast 22 keybinds which I use EVERY ARENA ROUND. Hunters may have more, but that's why I'm levelling a hunter =)

I've explained Strafe Kiting, I believe it's towards the bottom of page 10 and the very top of page 11, please read it.

Really? So while we're posed at an awkward angle, strafing to get a clear shot of you, normally around a frost trap (Provided you didn't HoF out/Walk out + Death grip/Intercept/Shadow Step or Cloak or Sprint, did not fizzle and actually activated) and all you have to do is hit a slowing effect, (Judgment of Justice/Chains of Ice/Hamstring/Cripple Poison) to sink us to the same speed (If not slower) and then continue to wail on us while we can do very little damage back and put up a desperate defense that will fail within 10 seconds, and we'll be too busy cursing at our screens to realize: It's time to release.

It's not the easiest thing to do.

And you can't Shadowstep or Sprint or Cloak the effects of a Frost Trap away, if it's activated.
Sprint does not remove the effect, nor does Cloak.
Cloak might remove it for a half second or so, but it comes right back.

I was under the impression it also made you immune to the effect for the duration of Cloak?

arp and haste being shared more with pets is dandy and all but I'd like to keep pets kind of low on the damage contribution and have those stats be better for the hunter itself

As far as I know, while in cloak and any other movement slowing immunity effect you are not affected by frost traps aoe slowing effect. From what I've seen it never slows them. However, if that is the case any smart rogue will cloak then walk over the trap cause the immunity will cause the trap to not go off.

For the undead priest... go drown in a river. No one asked for your opinion nor do we want it. I doubt you were in the military for any length of time... and if you were, you probably got kicked out before you were done with boot.

@ the lvl 55 DK, you must be stupid. And if you're so knowledgeable about hunters, post on your main not something = to a lvl 1 alt cause thats a lvl 55 DK is ... an unlvled alt that people try to use to trick other people into thinking they've played on that character for a while.

Why crit, if it doesn't have any stoping power?

First off, let's drop the political debate. It's not appropriate in these forums.

Second, the fizzling traps were something we put in place because of immune bosses. We think we have a solution to prevent traps from fizzling when immune players cross them. As I suggested earlier, traps are supposed to be a main component of the hunter class and we want to keep them potent. We have a few trap buffs in 3.2.

Third, I want to discuss a little ability called Roar of Sacrifice. We added it to make the new pet talent trees cooler. However in order to prevent players from chain use of the ability to keep tanks alive on raid encounters, we had to change it to only work on the hunter. This was unfortunate because we liked the way it was used in PvP and gave hunters a useful tool that they could use on other teammates. We would very much like to get Roar back into PvP and let you use it on anyone again. The way we would do this would be to have it somehow linked to critical hits instead of just pure damage (making it useless to ever use on a PvE tank).

It removes the first tick, and then it basically keeps going through the 90% miss chance for the rest of the duration of the trap.

The only reason it seems that it never works is that the Rogue can also use Vanish to remove the movement speed debuff and can Glyph for improved movement speed while Vanished(which doesn't stack with either Camo or Fleet Footed, as far as I know). Plus, Fleet Footed is pretty common to be taken for Mut/Prep builds which increases the Rogue's base speed and lowers the duration of movement speed debuffs.

Take those factors, add in that you'll probably have Crippling on...and voila!
That's what's making it seem like the Rogue is ignoring it.

Forgive me as I don't arena, so I don't know how much it happens, but with resilience in place, wouldn't it lessen the affect of Roar of Sacrifice due to crits happening less? If you tie it to crits, and with resilience in place, it just waters down the ability rather than giving us an oh #*%# button from our pet.

So due to a PVE change, that seemed to be taken care of with Black Arrow, you ACCIDENTALLY GUTTED traps allowing them to fizzle when immune players run over them?

So hunters have been waiting all season for a bug fix?

Seriously?

This is my only toon. I swear.

Why not just add an external cooldown such as forbearance or hypothermia? This would allow it to keep it's previous functionality without the problem of chaining.

Honestly I miss using it to save crappy tanks in instances.

You heard it here first folks. Tanks are going to have to have less than 540 DEF now so we can be Roar'ed. GC is advocating we make ourselves vulnerable to crits!

lol, ok, completely joking. Was just a funny thought :)
