It's only fair, because they have to blow cooldowns to get you back into their deadzone. (Scattershot, freeze trap, etc. Not that bubble is necessary... you can generally just use trinket + BoF to counter snares/Freeze trap)

Why?

If I just stole all the fury warriors threat, I can just as easy do it to a rogue.

The more Threat I can steal from any one, the less the rogue needs to use feint and the more energy they can spend on DPS. It would have to be a very short sighted rogue to @@!!# about that, which I guess would be almost all of them.

We're pretty much focused on Retribution with 2.3, but some more general changes are being made like lowering the mana cost for Exorcism, Holy Wrath, and Hammer of Wrath.

Another Ret change (just to keep the momentum going) will be an increase to the duration of Vengeance to 30 seconds.

I concur.

Nondispellable seals will be excellent for PvP. And the other buffs will be great for PvE too. Hopefully a threat reducer will be one of the "other" changes to compensate for the extra threat output.

It seems Patch 2.1 failed to kill World of Warcraft, just like patch 2.0.10, and patch 2.0.1, and patch.....

Think about it more rationally. This means that a holy paladin can get the +3% crit, start off by judging it, then the ret paladin can use CS to keep it up. It might make more sense for the ret paladin to just get it himself, but maybe this is so he can spend points somewhere else.

It's good, because it let's the Ret paladin take responsibility for the best general judgement - JoW. JotC is lower priority than JoW, but only the Ret paladin can do it - making it a tough choice if you only have few judging paladins. (Holy pal is responsible for JoW, but he's busy healing... do I swap to JoW, or keep JotC up...? )


Now you can keep up the most essential judgement, and rely on your fellow paladins to provide the other ones as possible.

That will not make a ret invincible. Most people mix up the longevity of survival in battle for different spec pallies. It takes forever to kill a holy pally because they can heal themselves forever, but dmg sucks. A ret can't last that long because their heals aren't great and their mana pool is for combat. It would only be god mode if Rets could heal themselves over and over like a holy pally.


No, they wouldn't be invincible, but a 10 PPM SoC with 6 second judgments, 30 second Repentance, 6 second CS and a free +3% crit with unpurgable seals would mean we would reliably do burst damage to make arms warriors weep, all while shielded. Much as we would like to see that, I don't see anything like that happening.

If only to raise the option, could ret get some help in terms of stat definition? Stacking strength, stam, int, spell damage and melee crit is rather cumbersome. Could we get something along the lines of fantacism changed to give us our secondary stat needs scaling to our primary stats?

Drysc, while I'm not currently Ret, thank you so much for helping out the most underloved of our brethren ;) I mean, a stam buff of some kind to prot would be nice but the fact that you guys are even working on Ret right now gives me some hope that you guys DO love the pally community.

What about...threat. Is ANYTHING being done about our threat? Buffing my DPS is not going to let me do it more often. My threat is killing my DPS, not my lack of DPS. :(

Specialization is for insects.
