I've been saying all along that this is what Blizzard would do when they release epic gems. I look forward to the buff to Engineering as well as being able to upgrade to epic gems in my prismatic sockets.
This leaves the question: will the new gems give 33 or 34 to X stat? if it gives 33 it will be worse than everything else (i'm assuming) and if it gives 34 it will be slightly better.

If it's anything like it is now, they'll give 34, as JC is currently one point higher than any non-Engineering crafting profession.
Engineering: The Insulted Profession
Q u o t e: "Players should choose their trade skills based on what they enjoy, not what they feel they must do."
Q u o t e: So Blacksmiths have to farm/raid/buy 2 new epic gems to get an increased benefit, but all the other professions simply log in on patch day?
Oh the horror. Please. In a week everything is even. What do you want them to do, just upgrade your gems for you? Make it so that your bonus is worth more than the others ones - so that you have a permanent advantage for the 2 hours of farming you had to do?
Q u o t e: Nice. Looking forward to getting some specifics on these buffs.
The numbers should be available whenever the PTR is released. We didn't want to provide them here as we are still changing them and they will likely undergo a few more changes during the testing phase but we felt it was important to let everyone know what the plan was for them.
so, no new recipes for anything besides jewelcrafting?

The real terror to the American Government is the American People. This is why the only successful attacks of the War on Terror have been attacks on our freedoms.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the change to Alchemy! I rolled my rogue as an alchemist and from the very start of arenas back in The Burning Crusade I always saw I was at a clear disadvantage compared to jewel crafting /enchanting but stuck with alchemy because I found it enjoyable and I also put a lot of time and money into It. Kudos blizzard for making all professions equal in arenas and in raids. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Thanks you, thank you!
so we are STILL not getting our boots back in arena... nor our stealth detect? no new schematics? no upgrades for our goggles from rep vendors? in fact no compensation for the goggles stats since stealth detect was removed? tisk tisk.
looks like everyone else got huge buffs tho gratz to the rest of you guys!
