This wont be a big deal, If you want you can just sit on 1900 in one bracket while getting points from another if your not sure you can keep a 1900 rating. Unless of course they require you to keep playing games which i doubt they would do. ANyways though 1900 rating isn't hard, but they should take the requirement away once s4 comes out so when your getting your rating up on a fresh season you can still use ur weapon.

My understanding is season 3 = 2.3?

Problem with this is it screws melee way too badly.

Anyone who has played a true melee class, or a melee spec of a hybrid class that uses weapons, knows that if you melee, you literally are your weapon(s); all else is secondary.

Non-melee classes however do not suffer this lopsidedness in necessary itemization, and good weapons are already too difficult to obtain for the casual player, anyway. There is no level 70 version of The Unstoppable Force, after all.

This is a poor decision on blizzard's part.

true, for this to work they are going to have to get rid of arena rating selling somehow. Otherwise all they are doing is punishing legit players who can't get the 1900 rating while all the buyers who are terrible will have thier weapons anyways.

Great, now we have to save up arena points and gold. WTB a spot on an arena team with 1900+ rating... I wonder how much it'll cost to get on a team for a minute .. probably a lot more if you have to do a full week and 10% with them

What about the fact that this hurts weapon dependent classes and is just an inconvenience to non-weapon dependent classes?

Why not make the helms require ratings? Or the chest pieces?

Limiting this to weapons is a nerf for melee once again. (anyone know if huntard weapons are included in this?)

I love the "1900 isn't that hard" posts on a lvl 61. Please understand that 1900 is a extremely small portion of the playerbase. It's an outright sell out to the full time wow players and a kick in the head to anyone that plays less than 20 hours a week.

Because of the base dps/dmg/healing weapons get from thier Ilvl, they are comparable to raid weapons for raiding, since the stats arn't the main thing a weapon offers. Armor works differently, so blizzard simply loads the sets with stam and resil so they are good for pvp and terrible for raiding.

How are you going to prevent people buying their way onto arena teams to get the necessary rating to use an S3 weapon? Have you guys even thought about how many people will be doing this?

Doing dailys everyday and selling a 2v2 team each week will be the best way to pay for PvE expenses. Heck, I could stop doing dailys.
