No, he's right. It is pretty ridiculous that Blizzard promoted these accounts and pretty much convinced a whole bunch of WoW players (Op and myself included) to switch to them and then have downtime on ONLY these accounts. What epic fail.

From what I understand, if you were already logged in, it wouldn't affect you, it was only affecting the logging in of accounts.

Also, all Mac users were required to merge into BNet accounts awhile back. In theory, it'll become mandatory for everyone eventually.

I didn't merge yet, thank goodness. Of course, I'm also at work. Still, three-day week for me, yay.

This is exactly what happened. The few Mac users who weren't forced to merge with Bnet simply didn't log in for the several days when this was affecting us. Many did merge though so they could log in, I don't know how many days the problem lasted.

Days? It was like a few hours last week, and I don't think it was Mac-specific.

I'm not quite sure what issue you're having. If you are experiencing an issue, then please provide additional details. At current, there are no reported issues with battle.net accounts. I have a merged account myself and have had no issue with being able to log in this morning.

The OP is probably referring to the message on the loading screen that clearly states battlenet users will not be able to log in until 5pm EST. This coming one week after most battlenet users could not log in until 5pm last Tuesday. It seems that a Blizzard employee would have been up to date on messages appearing on the loading screen. /shrug
